I'm getting ready to try to tackle the interior of my 86 chevy. This truck came w/no headliner. I've gotten a headliner and trim pieces from a salvage yard. Anybody know anything about recovering the headliner and covering the metal trim pieces? Can I cover the metal trim pieces in fabric or will I have to paint? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!!

I would just buy a replacement headliner kit from LMC trucks.. And you can paint the metal peices.

I took my headliner out, and took it to the upholstery shop, they recovered it for $35 and it looks brand new. I left the trim pieces alone, they look mint.

Thanks for the advice. Since I posted this thread, I've been investigating the possiblity of covering the used salvage yard headliner myself...the material is about $10. I can paint the metal and plastic pieces...I think I'm gonna try it on my own. I'll let you know how it turns out. Thanks again for the help.
