I almost have the cab in sound deadner. I got a few yards of automotive carpet to put in as well. The OEM carpet had a 1/2" thick rats nest looking thing between the floor and the carpet...
Home depot has the same looking stuff for household carpet... Is this acceptable for automotive use? If not, any suggestions on what to use?
It is typically called a "jute" backing. Home Depot stuff may not be as mildew resistant as automotive grade.

I learned this the hard way but if you can find a pre molded carpet that would be best, because molding just straight carpet sucks!!!

I really have no choice with the modified floor. I'll put my faith in spray adhesive i suppose.

I would apply the adhesive, then start from the center of the floorpan, and work your way outwards.
Use 3M spray adhesive, or a professional adhesive from an automotive upholstrey supplier.
