Strange Interior Light Problem

Didn't find this one covered elsewhere, so here goes. 1994 Silverado crew cab. When opening the rear doors, the cabin lights do what they are supposed to. When opening the front doors, nada. Cabin lights don't come on. Door switches do work (buzzer, etc.), so that doesn't seem to be the problem. Any thoughts? Thanks.

have you checked all the fuses with a volt ohm meter?

Thanks. Replaced fuse just in case, but didn't fix the problem. Should mention, lights work when manually turned on (using interior light switch). They just don't come on like they should when front doors are open.
