You should sand it down start with 80 then move to 120 then 220 and then to a 300 or higher to get it all smooth. Then primer it. When i did mine I sanded my primer with some 440 i think it was, so it would get rid of the grain look. then i had it professional painted by a body shop. i'll try and post a pic on here ak_nick 02-11-2008, 02:49 PM a pic would be great almost_low 02-11-2008, 02:57 PM this is a close up on the left corner. i couldn't get the whole dash from the sunlight but u should get the idea. o and btw its just the dash plate not the whole dash Silv3rado Own3r 02-11-2008, 03:25 PM READ THIS: http://www.fullsizechevy.com/forums/general-discussion/tech-articles/261132-dash-painting-procedure.html 383Mule 02-11-2008, 06:03 PM Colorbond TheMaroonBaboon 02-11-2008, 07:47 PM Almost_low, can you post some more pics of that dash plate please I wanna see what it looks like almost_low 02-11-2008, 09:07 PM here kinda messy inside TheMaroonBaboon 02-11-2008, 09:42 PM Oh its black i thought it was metallic like chrome or something. but hey thats still looks killer almost_low 02-11-2008, 09:44 PM for a $100 i think it was worth it TheMaroonBaboon 02-11-2008, 09:50 PM Most definitely it looks awesome LOWZ71 02-11-2008, 10:05 PM Regardless if you do the sanding and priming yourself, it is worth it to have a pro spray color on it. 1 because it will get the best results for your desired finish. 2 the color will be an exact match instead of just any ol' white. almost_low 02-11-2008, 10:09 PM hey low i like your avatar. i think ne of us young guys support em Silv3rado Own3r 02-11-2008, 10:20 PM I did all mine myself didnt turn out too bad...http://img299.imageshack.us/img299/6237/truckpictures002ib6.jpg almost_low 02-11-2008, 10:26 PM ya urs looks awesome. the only thing is i dont have patience for mine to turn out as good as urs was with out it sprayed by a shop. its a game of patience and i lost, in a sense the only thing i am doing tho is my door panels, and thats with raddle can and maybe some other easy plastic things in the interior Silv3rado Own3r 02-11-2008, 10:45 PM Yeah I painted all of mine, the whole nine, I am working on a center console then I am starting on the doors!
