View Full Version : HELP! Defective stepper motor?

Gentlemen,
I'm looking for some support...I've recently completed the 4HI headlamp mod (as per the thread on this board, via the BCM) and installed a new head unit in my truck (using the constant to switched wire setup)...

At first, my truck was reading 13 to 14 volts on the voltmeter on my gauge cluster...then one day it jumped to 17...it went back to normal for a few days, and now, the needle is pegged...I've attached photos to show what I mean...

When I turn the ignition to "run", I hear sounds like an electric motor is "leveling a mechanical meter"...like the old analog gas pumps did before you started pumping...
