i know this has been touched on a few times but i couldn't find any real info on it. i want to swap out my 60/40 bench seat for buckets. i would like to get the center counsil if i can find one. but what i want to know is what exactly i would need to make the swap happen and if i can do it to a standard cab. and if anyone wants to trade let me know.

you should be able to bolt a set of buckets in without much work. usually the holes are already in place for the bucket option or you might be able to use the same holes your 60/40 seats are using. most you might have to do is drill out a new set of holes but thats the most you'd have to do. best bet is take a look at how your seats bolt up then check out a couple junkyards and see if you can find anything. i just swapped my 60/40 to buckets last week it costs me $80 for both seats and the console didn't have to drill any holes i just used the same holes my old seat used. good luck.

ok so i can reuse the stock sliders and i am pretty sure i dont need to be punching out anymore holes, so all i need are some seats. and then the center console. as well as the dash peices right? or was there one that didnt go all the way up? i am looking to make some room for my stereo install and am making the jump to buckets.

i'm not to sure i think that should work cause i think the center seat is a seperate unit if it is then pull that out and there should be enough space for a console. just look at the seat mounts and see how they're setup. i know on my '93 the drivers seat of the 60/40 was a bucket seat and the 2 seats are seperate units so i would think they probably did the same setup in your '01 except yours will have 3 units divers side passenger side and center. its been awhile since ive worked on and '01 so i'm not 100% on that i'm just assuming.

well i pulled it up a bit and it looks like i should be able to lay down the console by just removing the center seat. but that center seat sits on the same rail as my passanger side seat it looks like....

ok so its setup somewhat like mine instead of 3 units its just 2 and the passenger side bracket extends across. ok now if you were able to pull the center seat off the passenger side bracket does it look like you would be able to install a center console ontop of that bracket in place of where the old seat was without it looking like sh*t. might be easier searching around for a set of buckets and a console that match. it might take a little bit to track down a good set but trust me well worth it and if you happen to find a junkyard with them then you can get all the extra stuff you might need. if your patient you should be able to get some cheaper i got mine for $80 and that was both seats and console. yours being newer will obviously be more expensive but still not to bad and its definitely worth it.
