View Full Version : my pass window wont go down.

the pass window in my 00 sierra wont go down, when i press the button on the drivers side you can hear a click coming from the pass door, but nothing happens.

would there be a seperate fuse for the pass side? i figured one fuse would go to both doors. which the driver side works.

Maybe it is just a bad motor, I am no electrician by any means, but maybe that is the relay clicking and the motor is bad.
Check the wire at the motor with a voltmeter to confirm power. Try the volmeter while operating both switches and see what happens.

Hold the button down on the passenger side and slam the door when you are sittin in it, give that a try, sometimes they stick. Thats what happened in my old chevy

im sure most likly it is the motor. you would think the drivers side would go out first since its the one that gets used the most.

I'd say it's the motor. sometimes they get water/moisture built up in them, and go bad because they don't get used as much.

At one time my window would go down but not up unless you pulled it up. I took off the door panel and say that the housing for the gears was cracked so when there was pressured from the motor the crack would just open up wide and the gears would just grind on each other.

obviously that's not your problem, but o replace the whole assembly I overpaid for the part at the dealership and put it in myself. The pully and wires are confusing so pay attention when you take it apart

it started working again yesturday, i guess it was stuck and got unstuck, lol you cant lock the windows like on some vehicles, right?
