Hello,
I'm new to the board.
I can't figure out how to take the inside door panel off on my 98 GMC sierra to replace the broken door handle. Is there a trick? :dunno:
Thanks for the help

Front door? If so...Here we go.

Remove the side view mirror trim piece. Pull up to disengage x-mas tree clip from clip box
Remove 2 screws from door handle
Purchase a trim removal tool (extremely important tool, pick one up at any autoparts store, the best one has the screwdriver handle)Use the tool to pull up the window switch (start at the back of the switch and lift it forward. Disconnect the wires from the switch.
Slide tool under door panel (start anywhere) find the x-mas tree clips and use the tool to pry the door panel away from the door. Take your time and make sure that you have the tool engaged around the clips. There are clips all around the door panel (front, back and bottom) Once all the clips are disengaged you can lift the door panel off of the window rail (you may have to beat the upper part of the door panel while pullin up to disengage the 'hooks' that hold it into the window channel) Once the door panel is free you can remove the bulb from the courtesy light.
