Hey all...new here, and hopefully new to be truck owner come this monday. Picking up an 06 GMC Seirra SLT. Only thing wrong with the truck(minor) is the radio buttons are so worn the paint is worn off on majority of the buttons. They are white, Hard for me to believe this new of a truck would be like that just from pushing the bottons? Almost like the previous owner took harsh cleaner to them and it stipped the paint.

Everything works on the radio just more of an aesthetic issue that I have to look at everytime Im in the truck.

So Questions: One, are there replacement buttons to purchase so I can replace them?(assume it would be a major PITA) Two: How hard is it to replace the radio in these trucks. It has the Bose sound option if it makes a difference. If its no big deal maybe Ill just install an aftermarket deck later on down the road. Ive talked to the dealership about it and they were going to look and see if they have another radio they can throw in...?

Thanks for any help, Ill be sure to post pics when I pick her up:biggrin:

If you're concerned about it, drop in a new deck and some new speakers. The bose system is crap. I had it in my tahoe for about a week. :p

My buttons on my steering wheel and stock radio are wearing down too, so if you find out an answer, share the wealth. Try a sharpie and let me know how it turns out! hahahaha
