I have a 1990 regular cab 4x4 and I have issues with my door buzzer. When I leave the keys in the ignition with the door open, the buzzer works fine. When I start up the truck with my seatbelt unbuckled the buzzer works fine. When I leave my headlights on and exit the truck, the buzzer does not work.

1. Is the relay that buzzes correctly in the first two cases the SAME relay that SHOULD buzz when I leave my lights on?

2. If not, where is the headlight buzzer located?

3. I can't get the existing relay to come out of the panel, even with a BIG tug on it. I don't want to damage anything... are there some sort of retainer clips that I can't see? I want to try & replace this thing & see if the headlight buzzer will start working...

I have left my lights on LOTS of times since I bought this truck in April. I've had to get jumped off at least 4 of those times.... dangit.

Thanks for your help....

That's odd, my truck doesn't have any kind of buzzer on it ever, doors open, headlights on, and it never has. Anyways, why do you always leave your lights on, can't you tell they're on when you get out of the truck?

I always drive with my lights on, day or night. Something I learned to do back in college when I lived in a very heavily-tree'd part of Raleigh, NC. It was easier to see cars in winter with their lights on than the ones with their lights off, so I picked up the habit.

Well, I've had this truck since April and I am not used to the dash layout. In addition to that, I drive any one of about 4 OTHER trucks during the day (I work at Habitat for Humanity) and they all have different dashes. If I leave the house before dark & then pull up to the parking lot in early morning daylight, sometimes it doesn't occur to me to shut off the lights. Not only that but the 18 year old dash display is pretty dim & doesn't show up obviously that I have left on my lights....

The buzzer would just be more handy if it was there to kick me in the shin.
