Well I got my overhead console put in. I got it out of a 94 suburban with the rear a/c control.

Many said that I needed to pull the head liner down to see if I had the holes for the clips, but I was able to stick my arm in the hole from the old console and find the two holes. I marked where the holes should go and took a razor knife to it. (Make sure that when you stick your arm in the hole that its not 80 degrees outside cause that crap was hot)

To get rid of the gaps between the ceiling and console, I wedged cardboard folded up between the roof skin and the headliner. I just kept doubling that up until the gap was gone.

I still need to get the insert for where the a/c control was. Anyone know the part number? I plan on mounting up my scan gauge II up there.

Anyways enough talking here are the pics.

Let me know what you think. Im open to suggestions on what to put in the other cubbies. I have a Garmin 600w that I want to mount somewhere just trying to figure that out.

It didn't come standard with your truck? The overhead console or did you have one missing?

really nice, I just added one to my 98 w/t. I re covered the headliner and while I had it out I cut a square hole in the headliner where the garage door opener has a hump on the top side. Also did not have the holes for the rear so I cut those tabs off and used interior screws into the double wall. Turned out pretty nice. Glad you asked about the part number because I needed it too.

yeah my roommate wants one in his crew cab... They came in the suburban and tahoes. Pretty easy to find. It would look great.

They also come in some LT trim levels...

As far as the plastic piece, someone makes a bezel that goes there that holds two gauges... It is different from the small console bezel...

Im not one hundred percent sure on that one, but I know that mine was prom a 99 suburban and my roommate had the same exact one in his 99 tahoe. Now there is one with just the cubby hole and that was it. My truck had that before.
