Looking for a project right now, and i am all over the place. Every where from a daully crew cab 80's truck, to a suburban, to a 95+ suburban... i am like a women and i can't quite make my mind up... and i need to put alot of thought into what i'll get as an end product before i start a project

I LOVE the old sqaure bodies... but prefer the interior of the 95+ much better...

Does any one have pictures, or have seen such a swap done? more so the dash, not to worried bout the seats or any thing...

from a project stand point... what kind of work would this take? i know a new bracket would have to fabbed up, and some thing done with the HVAC, but jsu curious for thought.... got alot going threw my head right now and jsut can't decide what the hell i want to do

You've got some serious hacking ahead of you, the cabs aren't the same width - inside or out.

Didn't say it couldn't be done, was saying it's gonna take some hacking. Cabs are different widths. Inside and out. :aniteef:

hhmmm i wonder if going to an 04+ would be any easier

there was some one on here awhile that attempted, and the dash look like it fit perfectly... he gave it up cause it wasa reg cab truck and the dash was to deep and after the steering colum was in there wasn't enough room for him, being 6 foot some thing

but i am 5'10 and i'd do it in a crew cab...

I think sticking with the stock interior would be easy. The work it would take to not only get it in and mounted but hook up everything would be such a pain and take so much work it would not be worth it and you'd have wished you never started on it.

I've seen a 73-87 bodied truck with 95-98 interior, It was in a 4wd mag. I think the title was "everything old is new again" or something like that. I have the mag back at my parents place but it's 300 miles away.

Nope, but knowing my old magizine collection it would be Petersons, Off Road, or Four Wheeler. For some reason I'm thinking four wheeler....

It would probably be easier with the NBS cabs. but the wiring and mounting would be terrible. It certainly would be nice though. i remember seeing a 67 Camaro with the 02 Interior in it and it was nice but a little strange to see.

Definantly different...I like my dash better, but I do like that, I would have used the 95+ gauges though.

But I also think the best looking chev pickups made are the 73-87 body style too. I just can't find one around here (rust belt) that's worth saving so I'm in an 88-98 bodystyle (horrible dash).

Hmmmm........I wonder if the 73-87 steering wheel will fit in my 88.............

Meh, to each his own I guess.i agree, doesnt get any better than the 73-87, though i'm more partial to the 73-80s. though i do like my OBS trucks too.

yes, the 73-87 wheel will fit in your OBS

I have seen it before online. I just don't remember where, it has been a few years. The one I saw they did a great job I remember reading that they had to do some fiberglass work to the dash to make it fit properly.
Sorry I couldn't be more help.
