trying to decide whether or not i want to keep this truck....to be honest its just too nice for me..

1998 ecsb 1500 z71
power captians chairs with center console
overhead console
towing package
brand new 285 bfg at/s on stock wheels
5 speed manual with 350 vortec
manual transfercase
premium sound
rancho 9000x shocks

This truck is absolutely stock as can be except for the side steps and tires. It is brand new clean no scratches or dings anywhere! seats look as though they have never been sat in no stains in the carpet. This was an old man truck and looks to have been garage kept. This truck has definently never been in the mud. No oil leaks whatsoever on entire truck. Very very clean and well kept. truck averages 15-17 mpg in town and i have not had it on highway yet but i would expect 20 mpg.

Not really serious about selling just seeing if there is interest in it on here being as i would hate to work such a nice truck. will post pics if any interest

man i know right where your coming from. i got a 97 in just as good condition, an "old man" truck and garage kept haha. i dont work mine real hard but it gets muddy but i do my best not to be careless about the body and stuff.
its a sweet truck and being manual is a plus imo :cool:

kbb is 8300 so im open to offers..had it on the highway it did pull 20 mpg like i thought (runs 1500rpm at sixty) truck is located in greenwood sc

100% sure its 350 says it on the emisions sticker under hood and has L31 engine code on rpo list which is 350 thus why the truck is even more rare

Wow looks just like like my truck except it's gray and mines blue same year, motor and best of all a 5 speed wouldn't trade it for anything thats the first one like mine I've ever seen all the ones I have seen up close are either 5.0s or 4.3s so ya they are extremely rare which is why I'm keeping mine I've had several people try to buy mine but I always turn them down, alot of times I'm offered more money than it's worth but chances are I will never find one like this again. bullsbowtie are you from ellijay because I grew up right up the road from you I'm from blue ridge origanally but I live in albany ga now.

yea, retail price is not for private transactions. i knew that was too much but i wasn't gonna go and book it myself...i'm a mechanic/gearhead and i've been keeping track of these for years...it's a damn nice truck...but not $7,500 nice. i can find trucks like that (maybe with an auto...whatever, the manual doesn't make it like a "Yenko Camaro"...unusual but not impossible to find) for $5,000-$5,500 all day long.


now, with all that being said...i'm not trying to flame you. it's a nice truck. and this was a "feeler" thread...in a feeler thread you'll not only get offers, you'll also get opinions...

Ok, I'll say it again. If it was closer, I'd buy it. And that's the truth. I really don't care if you believe me or not. I'm not in an absolute fit for one that I'd drive a truck that I don't really know the history 6 hours back home. What if I get there and I test drive it and there's something weird about it that I don't like? Then I've just wasted all that gas and if I took a plane or bus, I'm stuck in SC for a few days. I'm not saying that the seller isn't honest I'm just saying that a lot of people aren't when selling a vehicle. They tend to leave things out. Get it delivered? How would you like to send someone you didn't know $6000 plus the delivery fee and just HOPE that the truck comes as described. No thanks. Maybe you feel comfortable doing that but I don't have money to throw away. Again, I'm not implying that Jimbo is dishonest, I'm just saying you don't ever know anyone.

Yes try to find another one near you. Especially the 96-98. They are a bit easier to find in the 88-94 style because truck owners still weren't all about luxury like they are now. People wanted a TRUCK. Not some big blingy thing that belongs in a rap video.
