I was wondering how hard it would be to remove the trim and the metal behind it where your suppose to hook a car seat and if I would have to carpet or is there carpet already there? Im looking to gain more room for a sub box.

On my 04, they are only bolted on with a single nut. Should be easy, but I dont think you will gain very much room.

Your probably right about not gaining that much but something is better than nothing. I was thinking about running either 2 Memphis Mclass 10s which I wont need to gain anymore room for or one 10 or one 12 Memphis M3 in a ported box which I will need all the extra room I can get.

if u try the m3 12 ur gunna need 2.0 ft3 not counting sub displacment /port displacement. i would run 2 10's in some reg cab truck boxes and make u a cool little amp rack...... or get some bucket seats and build a new center console for that 1 12.

If I remove the trim and gain about an 2 inches or so it would put the box at about 2.3 ft3 but if I wanna get really tricky I could get 2.5 ft3. Im leaning towards the two 10s but keeping my options open.

is that internal volume or external volume?

I figured out the dimensions of the box and calculated internal volume off that. I thought about a console box but I dont wanna mess with fiberglass or pay a fortune for someone to build me one.

Its more of a guesstimate than anything though. Im gonna talk to my local shop tomorrow.

u dont have to build it outta fiberglass> just get some bucket seats and build a wood console that is actually a sub box :whatever:

I already know I wont like the look I will get from an all wood one no matter what I do with it.

I have an 05 silvy and just recently installed a sub box about a year ago. The panel just pops off slip your fingers under the bottom and give a good tug, now there is a metal hump about 2-3 inches above the bottom of this trim panel. Also you will need to carpet behind it its just metal behind the panel. you can avoid this by just notching the panel with a dremel so that it fits flush on top of your box.
