2008 LT vs LTZ

I'm looking at a 2008 Silverado. It looks like the dashboards are different, but what else is different?


I kind of like the extra glove box and added "utility" of the LT dash (with full center console), while the LTZ looks better.

But, can I load an LT exactly the same as an LTZ, such that I can essentially get an LTZ with LT dashboard?



And can you post pictures of your interiors so I can see?!

This is in my LT 08 truck. It's Black interior, actually ebony, with black leather and all that.

Sooner or later I will be getting the full center console instead of the folding bench portion, that is the only thing I don't like. I wish I had the LTZ mainly for the 6.0 and the tranny, but I don't like wood grain and the 10K + price tag so this will do.

You can get an LT3 with 99% of the stuff an LTZ has as far as buttons go...the biggest difference is possible drivetrain improvements (6.0 as Drew said)

Well, I'm looking at the 2500 anyways, so the 6.0 will do.


F4mou$, that's the dash setup I like. It's more "Truck-like", and less "tahoe-like". I like the 2nd glove box (the higher mounted one).


I think the LTZ's dash looks more appealing (Not as plasticy) but I gravitate towards the LT interior.

I'm curious to see better pictures of the full console. I only come across the same 3 pictures, and they don't help much... A full console is a must for me (I don't know why, but it is!)



As for the LT series, all they list on their website is LT (no distinguishment of LT1, 2, 3) although I do remember seeing them in the past....

I like the door handle location on the LTZ's much better, easier access.

I like the layout and comfort of my LT interior.

Best feature about the LT interior is that it has a hidden lock box. The bottom cushion of the third seat in the front flips up. Great for a pistol or small laptop.

The thing I don't like about the LT interior is that it's really easy to mark up the dash and plastic door panels. For example, I had to run to fed ex and I put a cardboard box on the passanger side floor, the dash was all marked up from where the box was touching it. It comes off with armor all though.

Really wish I would've got the LTZ, Or at least the LT3 over the LT..It's a little too late now!:dunno:

Wow... I think you just won me over. I thought I liked the "pure pickup" dash, but something about your photos makes the LTZ interior seem much nicer. Maybe it's the special ORBIT holder? :eek:



I want to ask as an aside: I have had custom stereos in all of my previous vehicles, but I figured the BOSE/Navi option would let me keep everything stock while getting the sound I want. I see you ditched the Navigation unit. Was the stock Navi crap??? (My train of thought was: I'm sick of having to take my eyes off the road to change a radio station. I liked the physical buttons over a pure touchscreen.... and really only the factory units offer the addition of physical buttons)

thanks lol. the orbit holder got retired because 5-gum doesn't fit in there, but when the packs empty it's back to orbit and the holder will live again

hey guys...has anyone installed a factory console like this one in place of the middle seat/fold console?...I just bought 08 Sierra with a regular dash and fold console and want to change the console and I'm not sure if this LTZ type console will work with my dash?....are all factory full center console's, LT's and LTZ's the same?...are console's from Suburbans/Tahoes the same as the one's in the trucks?....thanks!

I've been thinking the same thing as "BSI" lately about putting in the full center console in place of the fold up seat. If someone's done this, I'd love to hear how expensive it was. I figure it's very expensive.

Well, I sold my middle seat on ebay for 350$ +80$ for shipping..Ordered the main bottom piece from Doc(ih8ford), He works at a dealership..The main bottom was like 200$(been on backorder for over 2 months now:eek: )..The top part, Arm rest part is 230$ And I still need to order the cup holders part, Not sure how much that's going to be...There are a few more things I'm going to need, Just not sure what else right now..I'll start a thread up after I get all the part #'s and prices...

Ive seen a few on ebay, But not in black and most of them are for LTZ'S, Which wont work...Needs to be for a LT3 Or LT2 too, I think..

The GMC SLT doesn't have the wood grain like the Chevy LTZ does. I have it in the doors, but not the center console or dash. Mines got like gun metal gray trim. :dunno:

I don't think that the LT's come with heated seats? Or if they do i have no idea where the buttons would be located at. Also my parents have a suburban ltz and i have a silverado LT2 w/ the console and i kinda like theirs better in the looks dept., the LT has too much black plastic for me, although the function is much better on the lt and the radio is higher which i like.

I'd rather have the LTZ too... if you go for a nav/dvd unit, it's not tilted towards the driver so everyone can look at it, and everything just flows better and looks more classy.
