Looking to build a custom Console with subs

What the title says. Interested in ideas, finishes, pics, setups, accessories, tools used, and everything else. Feel free to post pics of your custom console. I am a beginner at these things, so looking for the easiest, cheapest, best options.

I plan on building one for my extended cab. Basically stretching from the front all the way to the rear bench seat. Subs will be towards the back unless I decide to do something else. Will be starting this project after I do my performance add ons.

Also, I plan to put my headunit and A/c controls in the console, Do I have to extend the wires, or will they reach, they will only be moved by the 4 Wheel drive shifter.
