I've been reading multiple threads of people taking out their gauge needles to paint them. But a lot of people said you have the mark the gauge before taking them out, but some people still have "in-accurate" readings even though they put it back exactly where they removed the needles from. What is the solution if I run across this problem?

What sucks it that my fuel gauge does not work correctly so it's going to be VERY hard to adjust the fuel gauge needle...

You need to turn the key to the on position and mark the needles location. When you reinstall the needles you do it also with the key in the on position. This is best done with a stone cold truck.
