Question: Can I put 89 door panels on a 90??

I hope the answer is YES.

I have a nice pair of door panels off an '89. I'd like to swap them into my '90. Both sets are for power windows.

Appreciate the help

Thanks

Are the '89 panels the mostly plastic type with the black switches and black switch bezels? Your '90 should have the cloth & carpet combo with the gray switches and gray switch bezels. If you have all the components for the '89, I think the only hangup you'll have is the black plastic piece that is riveted to the inner door skin is different, and the old style bezel will not fit it correctly. It's been a while so I could be remembering wrong.

90 should be the newer nicer interior. with the cloth.

89 door panels should be the plastic ones with the black switches.

i dont think they interchange....

'89 has square switches, '90 has rounded ones, so you would need the switches, the bezels, and the door handle carrier.

Right, that's the one hangup, if he's got all the other parts. Kinda sucks to have to drill those rivets too because usually they spin and melt the plastic. :(

Rivets are great.

Yeah. 90 is the mostly cloth panels, with the rounded switches. (The cloth on the drivers side of mine is toast. So is the carpet.) The 89 is mostly vinyl, with square switches.

I can get the parts for the 89 (i think), just wanna make sure it will swap in before i go to the trouble of tracking it all down.

i had forgotten about the switches being different, guess thats what happens when you go from working on GM vehicles to working for a fleet with 90% ford.
