Do 1993 c1500 come with delay interior courtesy lights? Or.... are they a door closed light off system? My 93 stays on after the door closes, I am not sure if I have an electrical problem. Please help
Thanks:think:

Do they turn off when you crank it?
Or, do you mean that they stay on after you leave the vehicle like the newer ones do?
If the lights never go off, you might have a bad door jamb switch...the black plunger type switch that pushes in when the door is closed.

check both or your switchs , cheap fix
I have a 92 , no delay in dome light
when you close your doors the light goes out

I'll check on the lights going off when I crank it. The lights go dimmer when I shut the door but do not go off. I have not timed it to see if they will shut off themselves.
I guess I should of asked, at what year did they offer the delay interior lighting? My 98 Silverado has it.

I'm not 100% sure but it's definitely, without question, after the interior redesign for 95...but I don't think the timed shutoff came in until 96. Again, not fact, just a hunch.
This is fact though - no timed dome lights on 88 to 94. Without question. If they're not shutting off when you close the door, you either have a problem with the pin switches on either side of the dash, or a problem with the dimmer switch next to the headlight switch.
By the way if your door panels are missing the little plastic "button" below the mirror, there's usually not enough thickness of the panel to make the switch turn the lights off. That's what that button is for. If it's missing you'll see a small hole in the panel.

Thanks for the info, I will check this stuff out this weekend. I just bought the truck and wondered why it was so dark at night when I opened up the door. I have a feeling that Bubba the mechanic got a hold of the wiring and jacked this all up. Yes this is only one of the many issues. thanks Tony

Check the switches first! They are the little black things hanging out of the dash, that touch the door panel when it closes. I think they're under $5 at NAPA, and a very easy change.
Also, not to insult intelligence, but the dimmer wheel is turned up beside the headlight on/off switch, correct?

I'll check that out and thanks. I know it would just kill me if it was something that simple but I found that the bulbs were missing from under the dash and when I placed bulbs in there that is where my problems began and I now know why the bulbs were purposely missing.

I'd have to say no and there is **Not** a timed shut off on my 95.
It sounds more like you have a bad or sticking switch.
