I have a 94 blazer sport with the tan cloth seats

I picked up a 94 Suburban seat same thing sort of

I have to swap the tops (suburban doesnt allow for rear seat entry)

my problem is the arm rest on my seat is shot but the suburban one is in nice shape

how difficult is it to swap the armrest

I believe you can. Going by memory here, but believe you push in real hard where the hinge is and rotate the armrest backward.

If that isn't the case, then I know the 95+ versions have a pin that goes into the side of the seat and is secured by a c-shaped clip. For those, you peel back the seat cover around the pin and pull off the clip. But I think yours is the first method.

I'll give the first one a shot if not I'll bring it to my upholstery guy to play with

There should be a spring-loaded washer that is holding the armrest pivot (or pin). By pushing in where the armrest pivots, you are releasing the spring or whatever it is.

Found this on another site, maybe it helps explain it better...

As you rotate the arm rest to the up position , you push "in" at about the final 1/4 inch on the way up. The arm rest will then be able to be rotated back about a 1/2 inch past full up. The arm rest can then be pulled straight outward toward the console. Same routine for both sides.

I guess after a while things get stuck sometimes. You might try unzipping the cover, see if you can access it from the inside.
