well, my trucks been "breathing" from under the dash for a while now, and im just fed up with hearing it. i dont know any other way to describe the noise. its literally sounds like when you exhale at a relatively slow pace. it'll do it 3 or 4 times, with a few seconds in between each time. as i mentioned in another thread, my right/drivers side dash vent seems to throw a lot of air when the setting on floor only. are even the new trucks hvac air direction controlled by vacuum lines, or is it all electronic? it almost sounds like a hissing vacuum line.
today on my trip to va beach, my heat seemed to quit workin! i had it set on speed 2, when i realized it was gettin pretty cold. so i turned the speed up. i set the dash only setting on, and cranked the fan all the way up, and it seemed like there was barely anything coming out of the dash vents. the little bit that was, tho, was very hot like it should be.
i have 2 bulbs out on my hvac controller, both on the fan speed knob. when i put my stereo in, i took the hvac unit out and tapped on the case, the lights came back on, then went off, on, off, on, off, etc. so i know theres a short for the bulbs in the unit. is there a way to test a circuit board for shorts and stuff, or is it just considered junk and go buy a new one?
