Replaced the ugly stock wheel with a Grant leather/billet wheel. I like my seats and stuff just fine so I don't see any reason to change them. I'd like to do a custom gauge panel later so I can have something better than an 85MPH speedo without using a 454SS cluster. http://www.someotherplace.com/94chev21s.jpg But I don't wack my hood either, so I guess I'm different. :D Richard kidwithwrench86 01-07-2009, 04:01 PM lol its a privlage haha. yellow400ex05 01-07-2009, 05:18 PM Eh, I haven't done much to mine except replace the gray carpet with black, put the gray floormats back and it looks great. They look bright. BlackBeauty91 01-07-2009, 07:01 PM Whats the switch do under the dimmer wheel? 1ugly88 01-07-2009, 07:03 PM Whats the switch do under the dimmer wheel? i think that's for the cargo light on the back of the cab. FordeatinZ71 01-07-2009, 07:07 PM yea, that's the cargo light switch...nice interior Richard! someotherguy 01-07-2009, 07:29 PM Thanks Fordeatin' :D it was actually pretty ragged when I got it, it's better now but still has a little room for improvement. I might swap in some Suburban door panels so I have the cool armrest style switches, that and the 'burb panels are in nicer shape at the top where mine have some slight wear. And yeah, switch is for the cargo light - truck is a '94 with the combo 3rd brake/cargo lights. Bulbs in the dash cluster haven't been replaced, though it is a pretty bright cluster, the effect you're seeing though is likely a little overexposure from the camera since it was kind of dark inside the garage. Notice how bright the courtesy lights under the dash look, they seem like 100W bulbs! Richard crossy's son 01-07-2009, 07:29 PM I'll post pics of mine soon when i get my red led cluster in. :D Justv610 01-07-2009, 07:33 PM Hey, does anyone know what kind of bulbs those are under the dash??? I want to replace mine with red led's. Link me? 95UKAWN 01-07-2009, 07:58 PM 94 rcsb i only have a billet steering wheel on, its also got a billet shifter heater box cover and mirror but dont have any recent pics needs new carpet and seatcover but pretty clean http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s223/dainerone/DSC07875.jpg http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s223/dainerone/DSC07880.jpg 1ugly88 01-07-2009, 08:04 PM Eh, I haven't done much to mine except replace the gray carpet with black, put the gray floormats back and it looks great. Richard yea, i gotta hit you up for interior parts when it gets that time for me...hopefully it won't be too much longer... hornsfan10609 01-07-2009, 08:42 PM yea, i gotta hit you up for interior parts when it gets that time for me...hopefully it won't be too much longer... Me too, once I have the dough, some nice 92-94 Blazer/Yukon door panels with the power mirror switch for my truck. 1ugly88 01-07-2009, 08:49 PM Me too, once I have the dough, some nice 92-94 Blazer/Yukon door panels with the power mirror switch for my truck. i've been looking for some of them for awhile now. love to find a red pair kidwithwrench86 01-08-2009, 05:46 AM i had red 194s behind the dash of my 86, and they all faded over time so now it just looks like normal bulbs lol. and the steering wheels seem to change the look alot, altho i like the stock one, i even have one in my oobs lol. 95UKAWN, the beer bottle has to be the best mod i've seen yet. what size speakers are under the dash they look to be like 5x7 or somewhere around there. someotherguy 01-08-2009, 10:29 AM got any pics of your seats? Just the factory style gray 60/40. It had buckets and console when I got it but jeezus the driver's bucket was trashed; one of these days I'll have them recovered. I got this seat from a member here in PA - been so long I forgot his name - he wasn't set up to ship, but my good bud Jim (PhillyTurboSix here) made the trip to grab them, slap on a pallet, and shipped to me. :D My interior's kind of dirty in this pic, but here ya go. http://www.someotherplace.com/94chev22s.jpg Richard rockymt21 01-08-2009, 11:54 AM I just did some suede upholstering on the inner door panels. There is a thread on her with a step by step procedure. The method is easy and its a cheap project. I had troubles however, maybe the spray adhesive I had wasn't strong enough, but I had troubles with the suede coming out of the seam. I tucked and tucked, its finally sitting in there but I have a feeling that it might be easy to come out so Im just going to make sure to be gentle. lowriderbowtie 01-08-2009, 12:51 PM here's mine. its all stock..but in immaculate shape. only difference now Is i have a cd player, but plan on adding a billet/leather wheel eventually. http://i245.photobucket.com/albums/gg60/lowriderbowtie/93%20Z71/002.jpg looks good for having 360,000km on the truck eh? trendkill 01-08-2009, 01:29 PM here's mine. its all stock..but in immaculate shape. only difference now Is i have a cd player, but plan on adding a billet/leather wheel eventually. http://i245.photobucket.com/albums/gg60/lowriderbowtie/93%20Z71/002.jpg looks good for having 360,000km on the truck eh? Nice. My '03 is in worse shape. kidwithwrench86 01-08-2009, 02:01 PM very clean. did all of the trucks have the eq in the center of the dash? or did some not come with it. my dad had a 94 years and years back, and i dont remember it being there. ksukats57 01-08-2009, 02:32 PM very clean. did all of the trucks have the eq in the center of the dash? or did some not come with it. my dad had a 94 years and years back, and i dont remember it being there. I think it was a deluxe stereo offered only on the Silverados not the Cheyennes kidwithwrench86 01-08-2009, 02:34 PM oh ok, and it prob wasnt offered in the gmcs either then BHB 01-08-2009, 02:39 PM Not much... Swapped in Bonneville Buckets http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee137/greggmartucci/PB230030.jpg Two-toned my center dash pieces to match the seats. http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee137/greggmartucci/PC020092.jpg I have full power now, and these... the tops now match the pattern in the seats. http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee137/greggmartucci/doorpanels.jpg kidwithwrench86 01-08-2009, 02:54 PM very nice im liking the whole two toned center dash. thats one thing that bugs me bought these, is that the cluster is the only thing that color. what paint did you use? BHB 01-08-2009, 02:58 PM what paint did you use? SEM colorcoat aerosol. http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee137/greggmartucci/semccaero.jpg kidwithwrench86 01-08-2009, 03:06 PM ok cool, maybe ill have to get some to match my dash cluster trim. then itll match my seat covers too. BHB 01-08-2009, 03:10 PM Did it here too http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee137/greggmartucci/PC230033.jpg http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee137/greggmartucci/PC270049.jpg Justv610 01-08-2009, 03:52 PM http://a157.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/70/l_f582075797a24d735234db6c99c48184.jpg This is what I got, not most recent, I think I will take a new pic this weekend and show you most recent. My seat covers are all torn up, but the regular bucket seats are in great condition. kidwithwrench86 01-08-2009, 03:54 PM nice, im thinkin of building a custom center console, i hate how far away my radio is from me, my g/f keeps stealing it lol Justv610 01-08-2009, 03:57 PM http://c2.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images02/44/l_1bb2e9ce0ed04bb69b8f57f137ecbe7d.jpg http://c4.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images02/62/l_f881122af9f5499bab8a858ebae7b0df.jpg Just finished, gonna clean everything up this weekend, install it, and also install my new sub box under the seat :D hornsfan10609 01-08-2009, 03:59 PM oh ok, and it prob wasnt offered in the gmcs either then You could get the eq/tape in the Silverado/Scottsdale trim and whichever two trims were the top for GMC. (I like Chevy's use of names better than GMCs use of letters). My cheyenne just had an Am/Fm radio, and a pocket where that eq/tape is. kidwithwrench86 01-08-2009, 04:01 PM that is one nice console. thats something like what i wanna do. i think thats what my dad had in his 2500, was a pocket there lowriderbowtie 01-08-2009, 04:10 PM oh ok, and it prob wasnt offered in the gmcs either then mine is a GMC and as you can see by that picture, it had it :) It is a fully loaded sierra z71, with delux interior trim package. Justv610 01-08-2009, 04:11 PM Mine had a tape deck in the center at first. As I moved my cd player to my console, I am looking for something to fill that hole up. Anyone got any ideas!? kidwithwrench86 01-08-2009, 04:16 PM well, like horns fan said, some were offered with pockets there, so you could prob try to find one of those. Justv610 01-08-2009, 04:42 PM Yeah, thinking about that also, have no clue where to look tho! I would like to make a cover plate for it, and insert a digital clock, but cant find anything that will fit nor wire up to 12v. gr8twhite 01-08-2009, 06:19 PM here's a couple I've picked up over the web: http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e235/gr8twhite/truck/p120173_large1995_Chevrolet_1500Int.jpg http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e235/gr8twhite/truck/0711st_05_z1991_chevrolet_1500custo.jpg http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e235/gr8twhite/truck/0711st_06_z1991_chevrolet_1500custo.jpg http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e235/gr8twhite/truck/500261967_2_b.jpg Very dirt pic of mine with dodge seats, z34 wheel, 91-94 guages, overhead console, s-10 temp compass info center, autodim rear veiw: http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e235/gr8twhite/truck/console/dome-6-013.jpg Gettting the pieces in place first, I'll make it "pretty" later. It actually looks much better since I steam cleaned the interior and treated the surfaces...just don't have any recent pics. yellow400ex05 01-08-2009, 07:25 PM Here's my mint obs interior! only the red mats are dirty. Yeah i know I've got rubber mats on a rubber floor, but i get in it with muddy or salty/snowy shoes often, and I'm trying to keep i in good shape. http://c4.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images02/50/l_c539864913204e79bdb48c23cb3540d3.jpg hornsfan10609 01-08-2009, 08:34 PM well, like horns fan said, some were offered with pockets there, so you could prob try to find one of those. I've got my stock one, it's blue. I know you could find one at a junkyard or from LMC/CK resto. kidwithwrench86 01-09-2009, 07:11 AM im liking those ones you found online gr8twhite. i like the billet stuff, always had. i wish i was still in school i'd make up some custom sheet aluminum stuff like i did for my oobs silverado. Bigg G 01-09-2009, 07:36 AM here's mines http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii132/GBrown62/008.jpg http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii132/GBrown62/010-1.jpg http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii132/GBrown62/009-1.jpg FordeatinZ71 01-09-2009, 11:49 AM i love this thread. we see far too many pics of the 95-98 Silverado/Sierra interiors (sorry Bigg G) and far too many of the newer trucks...but it's seldom that we see truely nice 88-94s...i wish mine was worthy of posting but mine is in horrible shape right now...this thread gives me great ideas... Bigg G 01-09-2009, 12:39 PM My truck's interior didn't look like that ^^^^^^ 7-8 months ago. I bought it trashed with a very nasty looking 60/40 bench seat and carpet in it that looked and smelled like it was used for a porta potty. I found the buckets & console on Craigslist locally for $130, ordered new carpet and pulled my headliner to have it redone. Took out the old and cleaned up everthing I could while the cab was bare and put it all back togeather. All you need is a plan and your 2 good hands. Justv610 01-09-2009, 07:42 PM Hey, I just did some extra's on my interior, I will post some pics tomorow, its too dark to take pics now. I also agree, very good thread for ideas! 94Yukon 01-10-2009, 12:05 AM Not much Cup holder that I modified http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m318/djones8402/IMGP0595.jpg http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m318/djones8402/IMGP0596.jpg Components in the doors http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m318/djones8402/IMGP0132.jpg Big~Kenny 01-10-2009, 12:42 AM Heres my '91, power buckets out of a '98 burb', center console, Kenwood 4" plate speakers, Kenwood KDC-X792 Stereo(fvcking awesome.), and thats about it. Justv610 01-10-2009, 08:25 AM I am also very interested in the kick panels. I hate how I only have 4x6 speakers all around my truck, 2 on the dash, 2 in the rear, they suck!! Quick question, I wanted to upgrade to some 6x9's for the rear and cut it out. What is the best speaker for the money out there. I am not looking to spend a lot of money at all. Just something better than those 4x6's g9m3c 01-10-2009, 09:39 AM dang, this is getting me excited to do things to my interior lol. im loving that gauge set up g3m9c, i love red lights. i wanna ge the autometer es series for my 86. there a black backround but light up in red. i like my seats in my blazer, there pretty comfy to me, and the drivers is full power. what size spearkers are in the dash factory? and where did you get those kick panels from g3m9c? Correct, factory looking replacement upholstrey is not availible for '88-'94s. I've had a couple of upholstery shops claim they could get the factory fabric, they did mention it was a bitch to get the seams just right due to the fact it's bonded to the foam. They said they could do it though, and then gave me a price of $700 to recover my '94 highback buckets. :( :( They're sitting high up on a shelf right now, while that near-new looking 60/40 is in the truck. Richard kidwithwrench86 01-11-2009, 05:13 PM lol, theres nothing wrong with changing the color of your dash lights haha. that is, as long as they match something about your truck, and not in a completely blue interior with red lights lol. my rear seat in my blazer is missing the foam in the center too, thats why theres a seat cover on it. 01BlackBeauty 01-11-2009, 09:57 PM my 93' not modded but very clean http://i438.photobucket.com/albums/qq110/Dustin503/DCP_0095.jpg WetPaintSierra 01-11-2009, 10:37 PM For you obs 88-94 guys: What components/speakers are you running and what fits in the factory places? I think im going to put 6x9's in the back of the blazer and some 6.5's in the front if they fit in the factory place. The factory spots in the front are only going to hold a 4x6, that's the dash speaker. Not sure what the Blazer has in the back? 4x10's probably in the upper part of the headliner, like a Suburban? Or does it have B-pillar speakers somehow like a pickup cab? If so, those will also be 4x6. I've got 6.5's in my door panels, but I really hated chopping the panel and the inner skin to mount them. S'pretty clean considering what it was like when I bought it, but it needs a new headliner and the carpet is getting haggard. I used that spray paint dye for it because it was so stained. I'm trying to decide between black or gray carpet. I want to do that gray microsuede stuff for the ceiling. flotsamm 02-02-2009, 08:33 AM WHHHHAAAAAAAAAAT! I never knew Suburban buckets of that vintage could be had with dual armrests! I want some now! My Blazer buckets are identical but don't have outer armrests. I'm guessing they won't tilt forward though, which is something I kinda...need. Matt, they do tilt fwd so I can get to the back. They basically slide fwd using the lever under the seat and it has the recline handle on the side so it tilts also. someotherguy 02-02-2009, 01:08 PM Right, but if you use Suburban buckets in an extended cab, you won't have that "single lever" entry like '93/'94 had on extended cab seats. You'll have to fold the seat forward with one lever, then slide it forward with the other; not a big deal if you don't have people cramming into your back seat very often. I don't, but it's the one thing that kept me from using a nice pair of gray Suburban buckets in my extended cab. Maybe I should have kept them anyway...good gray buckets are hard to find. :( On the Suburban/Blazer door panels, if you want the conversion to go smoothly without a nightmare headache - you'll have enough work making the window switch wiring hook up correctly - GET THE DOOR MODULES TOO. In other words, the black sheetmetal inner door skins. The holes that the switch panels clip into are way different than the normal truck setup, and you'd have a hard time hacking them effectively. I know some might think grabbing the whole door module just to change door panels seems like a lot of extra work, but trust me, it's a lot more work trying to cut a bunch of perfectly slotted holes in your existing door module for that switch setup to clip into. Richard He's right, there are a ton of extra slots for the Blazer/Suburban switch panels. That is what was squeaking in my truck, all the clips that went into those slots would make noise! I may consider the suburban buckets if that's the only difference, whenever people get into the back seat, they can never figure out the lever anyway. BHB 02-02-2009, 02:47 PM It's always fun when you have dual armrests, and forget to flip the left one up before you attempt to open the door. You pull the lever, and try to nudge the door with you elbow, and then you think the door is still locked. :wtf: Because you just elbowed the armrest. :banghead: vortec94 02-02-2009, 03:11 PM IMG 1473 That's not a 454SS cluster. it's obvious i don't have an ss cluster...which is why i referenced 88gmctruck's when i made the comment. :aniteef: :whatever: g9m3c 02-02-2009, 03:32 PM it's obvious i don't have an ss cluster...which is why i referenced 88gmctruck's when i made the comment. :aniteef: :whatever: Sorry, I just didn't understand why you made the comment, "exciting. 88gmc, x2 on that 454ss cluster looking cool," and then randomly posted a pic of a regular tach cluster without explaining why it was there. tpulliam79 02-03-2009, 03:10 PM heres my 91 no befor pics though http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm7/tpulliam79/100_0782.jpg http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm7/tpulliam79/100_0783.jpg and heres the before after on the 88 http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm7/tpulliam79/oldbench88chevy.jpg http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm7/tpulliam79/100_0787.jpg http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm7/tpulliam79/100_0788.jpg http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm7/tpulliam79/100_0789.jpg Justv610 02-03-2009, 04:25 PM I guess those seats are mighty comfy :D I want the maroon ones. I got my whole interior out of a 93 and all of it matched my old 91 stufff besides the front dash peices, the 93 glovebox door and a/c vent/radio holder were darker grey that what was in my 91. So i put the 93 glovebox on and now it looks tarded becuase the front peices of my dash were factory light grey but the actual dash shell was the dark grey. And flotsamm HAS THE EXACT SAME TRUCK AS ME and his door panels look darker then what came in my truck orig. and whats in it now? now wtf? was there two different grey's in the early 90 's. my 91 glovebox door is like 985584 shades lighter then the 93 glovebox door i have here. It cleans up VERY easily with a garden hose, if its really dirty, pull the seat which takes 3 min, powerwash it out! Decided though Ill be spending more time in this truck so I pulled what I could for interior pieces from a parts truck, Im going to dynamat everything, cut out the back wall of the cab for subs, install interior when I collect up the rest of what I need, buy new carpet, build center console, stereo,cb,cupholders, etc. Im having a tough time deciding on door panels, I have a set of nice ones out of a loaded PW,PL truck, Id punch a hole in them for window cranks, OR I have a set of 95-98 PLAIN door panels that Id have to smooth and paint. seats are troubling me too, right now I have my mint stock bench in there, but Im considering buckets again. dubmission82 08-30-2009, 08:57 PM Eh, I haven't done much to mine except replace the gray carpet with black, put the gray floormats back and it looks great. :D Richard that looks like a Negra modelo in the cup holder... MudSoaked 09-03-2009, 07:58 PM Here's mine, I think I'm pretty much done with it untill I can afford some new seats. Crossy's Son, didn't realize they'd discontinued that shifter, wonder why? I've had for probably 8-10 yrs, can't remember where I got it but it did really tighten things up. I've got a T handle knob on it now and I need to make a plate to angle it back a little more because I do have to lean forward a little to reach it but it was definitely worth it. Looks a whole lot better than the stock plastic baseball bat looking shifter too. Thanks :D They discontinued the 88-92 shifter, I have one for sale that doesn't work on my 93 trans. I need to buy the right one for 93+ that they still make...:D 94Yukon 09-30-2009, 04:38 PM So these door panels are from Suburbans, tahoes etc?? I really like these! That door panel is from my truck. 1badgmc 09-30-2009, 04:48 PM So these door panels are from Suburbans, tahoes etc?? I really like these! '92-'94 Suburbans, Blazers (Tahoes didn't start until '95), Yukons and crew cabs. Blazers and Yukons will have 2 window switches while Suburbans and crew cabs will have 4. I'd love to find me a set of these panels for my '94. derek6787 09-30-2009, 05:51 PM You don't need the whole panel just the switches and the plastic around them... nickl011 09-30-2009, 05:56 PM There are some Yukon panels and switches at my local junkyard if anybody is interested, I could pic them up for them. The panels are grey. 1badgmc 09-30-2009, 05:56 PM You don't need the whole panel just the switches and the plastic around them...
