I want to convert my 1997 Suburban from the bucket front seats to the 60/40 bench. Will the bench seats just bolt in? What donor vehicles should I be looking for?

1995-up extended cab and crew cab, and no, they won't just bolt in - not a biggie though, you'll have to drill a few more holes. Get the seatbelt receivers from the donor truck too.

any seats from 95-up will work. and as long as your sub has the factory center console, you will only have to drill one hole. the right front one for the driver portion of the seats, all the others line up. and like someotherguy said make sure to get the 60/40 seat belts from your donor vehicle.

Thanks for the info! I found a set of 'a' grade seats from a 1998 GMC 3500 extended cab at a local junk yard for $75 so Ill be trying it out this weekend.

I am just curious why you want to go from buckets to bench.

A customer of mine bought the seats out of my crew, for his crew, instead of putting in some buckets he has...because he has SIX KIDS!!!  I'd go nuts.. or more nuts..

Edit, I just remembered, I also threw him an extra lap belt assembly because he had an idea to mod it so 4 kids could fit in the back seat, and all be legally belted in. Dunno if he managed to make it work.
