Need to replace the headlight switch in my 97 Silverado.
My Chilton's doesn't show the process for my truck, only the earlier models.
Can the switch be removed from under the dash, or do you have to remove the instrument panel to get to it?

Set parking brake, put shifter all the way down in low so the dash bezel will clear it (this of course assumes you have an automatic.)
Gently pry the dash bezel away from the speedometer. It's just held in with clips. You bring it away from the main dash shell and then you can remove the connectors on the back of the cargo light and passenger airbag disable switches. Gives you more room to move the bezel around so you can get to the headlight switch connector.
Disconnect the harness from the headlight switch, then be careful prying the tabs of the bezel away from the switch - they're really easy to break.
