OK, I swapped out my seats for power seats out of a Camaro in my 91, everything worked fine for a couple weeks but now they stopped working. :dunno: I traced it back from the seats and found the distribution block under the dash has no power now, not just where I tapped into it, all of the empty slots are dead too. Anyone know where the power comes to that thing or what to check as to why it suddenly died? It's right up against the firewall and I can't figure out where the wires come/go from the damn thing. There are only two other things plugged into that block, I think one is the dome light (that still works) but no idea what the other one is.

What year is your truck, dunno why so many people leave out this vital info. :D

Also keep in mind some of those empty slots are ground, and others are only hot with the key on, or while cranking, depending on the color code.

I know what you mean but I didn't leave that part out,
OK, I swapped out my seats for power seats out of a Camaro in my 91 It's a 1991, the seats are out of a 2002 Camaro. I checked all the empty slots to make sure the one I picked was always hot, that one and a couple others were but now they're all dead.
Thanks.

My bad! Read you wrong. Sounds like you smoked a fusible link back to the junction block. Passenger side firewall, under the black plastic cover. Check www.autozone.com for wiring diagrams on your truck.

Other than those being dead, other stuff in your truck is working properly? Have you checked all fuses?

fyi wiring schematics can differ between tahoe/burbs and trucks. so that part is still vital.

Thanks Richard, I'll check that block on the firewall. I've never pulled that cover off, I didn't think there were any fuses there. I checked all the fuses in the dash and poked around with my multi-meter and can't find anything else that doesn't work, that's what has me confused. I know there are a couple things plugged into that block and if the whole thing is dead there should be other things that aren't working.
