I know I'm getting picky, but I'm 6'4" and I'd really like to lose about 2" or so of the height of my driver's seat. I just wondered if the power seats go any lower or not- And can I use my OEM seat cover on a pwr seat?
Remember the old Merc Marquis seats that go almost to the floor and tilt back like Imax theater seats? (totally unrelated comment)
If I didn't feel nauseous every time I see a dealership I'd stop in and sit in a truck with power seats. But all I can think about is a skinny 22 year old with a white shirt and tie rolling up in his golf cart and just how long it will take for him to get a key :sniper:

Man I must be bored...I went out and measured my front seats.
I didn't know if you meant your 96 Burb or the 2000 so I'll pass on the ones for our 1998 and 2003.
I took a tape measure and measured the height from the floor to the bottom of the leading edge of the front cushion...about where your left knee would be.
1998 K1500 driver bucket in lowest position is 6-1/2". Incidentally, the passenger side is manual and looks to be the same height as the power one at its lowest position.
2003 Tahoe driver bucket in lowest position is 6" which is probably what you'd find in a 99+ truck.
Don't know about the seat covers, but know that the 96 cloth seats are glued at the seams (versus velcro on the leather) so they wouldn't be removable though I have seen cloth powered seats on the C/K trucks. I haven't seen cloth power seats on the 99+ and think that the cloth seats may be glued at the seams as well.

NO WAY would I change out the seats in my burb! The entire interior is vinyl! I can throw my muddy dogs in there and go home and spray it out with a hose! :10:
I don't know why my other reply to this is missing, but thanks again to east302 for your effort. The conclusion is "NO"
