88 gauge swap

I have a 88 chevy with a manual trans. Will I need to use the DRAC to do a gauge swap? I thought I saw something about the DRAC being used for auto trans.

What gauge swap are you wanting to do? Wanting to go to the 92-94 needle style gauges? You need the DRAC module, regardless of transmission style. There's a how-to article in the tech section I believe, been a while since I looked for it. You've got a little hacking ahead of you.

I'm going to neddle gauges. I have everything needed except the dip switch. My original question should have been will I need to add the dip switch?

If you want to be able to easily configure the DRAC, yes. Otherwise you'll either be stuck with the settings of whatever truck the DRAC came from, or if you want to change it, be unsoldering then resoldering the jumpers to match what settings you need. If you're going to do any work on it at all, it's best to just go ahead and put in the dip switch. They cost less than $2.
