Hey guys, the center console in my Suburban has a tray that looks like it is meant to hold jewel cases for CDs. It is in the front compartment. Did all of the 95+ OBS with a center console come with this tray or is there some different tray out there? It seems like there would be a more useful way to use that space.

My 97 burb came with the cd holder, and my dads 99 burb came with a cup holder. Swapped each other cause I had no need for the cd holder. The cup holder is much more useful for me. I dont know where to find one though, It was an option on some models I guess.

Check a junk yard for it would probably be cheapest

Yup, cd holder or cup holder was available. I had the cd holder in my tahoe, it made a good junk bin.

I had the cd bin in my truck originally...A little ebaying turned up a nice cup holder.

Are the cup holders pretty useful? Are they deep enough to keep the drink from spilling? I don't trust to cup holders in the dash.

The CD holder grabs a Koozie just great. That's what I always used mine for in my old '96. :D

I got both when I bought my Tahoe... they're swappable. I use the cup holder exclusively - throw the CDs in the console ("out of sight, out of mind" is my philosophy).

I am with you on that, I keep my CDs in a sleeve in the main console bin. I throw the jewel case away when I buy a CD.

Would any of you who have the cupholder tray mind checking to see if there is a part number on it? I would like to track one down, but I am having trouble.

I prefer the double cup holder tray over the CD tray anyday of the week.

I'll pop my cup holder out after work and post those numbers for you.

Thanks, I appreciate it. I managed to find a new one at Late Model Restoration but it is $60 with shipping! Too rich for my blood.

Try doing a search on Ebay (fee-bay). I've seen a few on there go for $20.00 or less.

I put a center console from a 98 Suburban in my truck when I swapped in the bucket seats, it had the CD holder but I got the cup holder from ckresto.com, much more useful.

i like the cupholder a whole lot more! 2 different cup sizes, and when driving you can have your hand on the cup to keep it inplace easier and worry free about it just ploping over.

i hate the dash cupholder for another reason.... in the winter or other cold weather is your cup sits right infront of the air and with the heat blowing well obviously your ice melts alot faster and waters down the pop or just warms up the drink if ya got a bottle.

sometimes your better off buying a whole console that has the cupholder because at least i cannt find any cheap. only ones ive seen go for way to much new.

Either you got one that was broken or you drink stuff in weird containers. :D I love mine, have had them in my trucks for the last 10 years, best cupholder ever made! And most peeps I know agree.

What the hell were you trying to put in yours, anyway? :D

Best ever made, it rattled and creaked while driving, my truck didn't come with one but I moved it way over to the passenger side but my radio still interfered with it and if you put anything bigger than a small drink it is way too top heavy.

Sounds like you got one that was worn out from fat dudes trying to use it as a jump seat. All mine have been top notch. :D
