Ok.....it's just a cardboard form now but when it's done and I like it I'll make it out of MDF and some other cool stuff. This is around 90% done and this is only the front section:D....the rear section is a whole different story....

hey i really like that. so where do you go from now??? are those going to be templates to cut your MDF?
and what are you going to cover the MDF in, glass or material?
nice job so far, cant wait to see the finished project

looks good man, can't wait to see the final product..
Looks like a smooth clean classic design, nice.
But I thought you were going to make one that extended all the way to the back and run bucket seats for the rear?
That was a great idea IMO.

It will be a full length piece but I want it done in 2 sections so it is easier to work on and install. You'll see why I am doing it this way once the rear section is formed out:read:.
After the forms are done I will just make some jigs and start cutting some MDF and smooth everything. It will not be glassed but it will have leather, carbon fiber, and smoked acrylic:D

Looks like an excellent start!! BTW, after looking at that pic I think I have an idea for your back seats!!:D :read:
hey cam, I got a question...what are you going to use for the top piece...you know the piece with the curve in it? Are you going to use some sort of plywood, or are you going to have a metal sheet layed, or what? I'm starting up some designs, but i'm going to be glassing, and i need something that is solid for the design. Just curious as to what you were using.

i would have made it to slambo, but i had no baby sitter, and no place to stay, so it just wasn't the best weekend to go...plus that was when my ole lady was deployed you knew that dave.

Hell, why do mdf? I'd glass right over top of the cardboard. a good 6-7 layers and you could park your truck on it. I would use the mdf as a bottom mounting piece, but glass the rest.

that sounds interesting, but price wise what way is cheaper?
and would you just put fleece over the cardboard and then glass that?
One more question, what would you do about opeinings, would you glass the thing as a whole and then cut out areas for the openings or what?
thanks
