Not sure how this happend, but whatever. My passanger seat keeps leaning back. The back part just keeps going farther and farther back. Only happens after a few day's, and must be when someone put's pressure on the seat. Like sitting in the seat.

I usually just unbolt the seat, pull it back to where it's suppose to be, and just leave it. But this is getting annoying. How can I fix this? I think it's the brackets that hold the seat together, but I'm not sure.

The seat's are bucket seats from a 1993 Sierra

Its randomly leaning back? or slides back? you said leaning, but most seat problems are with it sliding back.....

as far as the seat leaning back like reclining? its gotta be a busted stop bracket (which is unlikely unles you cut it off) which is why I think you talking about it sliding back....If thats the case take out the seat, (guessing they are manuel-slide back and forth by pulling on the handle)
take the seat out, flup it upside down, look at the slider handle you grab onto, fallow that rod down to a tooth that fits into on of many of the grooves in that particular side of the seat rail, then from there, there is gonna be a rod or wire wimiler to a metal clothes hanger leading to the other rail. in most cases this is disconnected or the wire broke. you will find a similer tooth on the other side to fit in those grooves the rod or piece of metal ties the two sides together AKA you pull on the lever to move the seat, engauges one tooth to let go on each side. when you let go of the lever the teeth catch in the grooves? Get it? another possibility is the return spring is broken and the teeth are not going into the groooves, reguardless, its an easy fix, jus gotta remove the seat to find out!

good luck! any other questions feel free to pm me

Yeah, the passenger seat is like reclined back. I found out what's wrong. There are 4 bolts that hold the seat together. One is stripped, and will not tighten up. So, I'll just keep fixing it every so often until I just swap seats with some 95+up seats.

I'll get some pictures next time I take it apart to adjust it for a better idea of what I'm talking about.

had the same prob in the explorer before I traded it in. I just put a cooler behind it. Figured I might as well bc I always had beer with me.

Same thing happened on my 94. I pulled the seat, took off the plastic cover on the side, put a peace of damp card board behind the area and mig welled the striped hole. After it cooled(sprayed with squirt water bottle) I drilled and re taped it.

You see, the same thing happened to me, in the drivers seat, and the whole bracket broke off have a buddy weld in a custom one this Wednesday but i didn't know if this was a common problem or did chevy just not have people like me in mind when making their trucks :damnit:
