obs seat swap

i am in the process of switching my 88 from its manual bench to a 60/40 split bench with power lumbar out of a 98 and im having a small issue with wiring there is an orange wire and a black wire coming from the seat i made orange hot and black ground but the seat will only adjust forward... so i was wondering if i did something wrong if anybody knows any help would be appreciated.

Did the seat work fine in the donor vehicle? motor or switch may be bad.

on mine there was 2 orange wires i hooked both of them up to 12v and the black to ground and it worked fine for me

i dont know if it worked before or not they were already out when i got them at the junk yard... but if i hooked it u right it must be a bad switch or something

Bypass the switch and wiring, and jump power into the motor.

its a bi-directional motor both wires neeed power the switch controls the path of power if its the three way switch that im thinking of.
