View Full Version : Put in new carpet
What a difference. I swapped my stock rubber floormat out for new black replacement carpet. It looks so much better. Painted some of the plastic pieces to match and what a difference a day makes. I started at 10am and finished at 7:30. Not working the whole time but most of it.

sounds good but I bet that rubber mat was easier to clean then the rug will be:D
What brand carpet did you use?
Its Ohio Auto Mat carpet and it does sound a bit quieter. I take my shoes off when I drive now.
Did you use your original padding or did the new carpet come with new padding? Was the install hard? Where did you buy yours? I'm thinking about doing the same thing.

How about the Carpet from the Sierra Denali? I'm about to put it in my Silverado and it's tons better than the crap the truck came with. It's the SUV style of carpet and really nice.
Perfect fit too.
the install was not hard at all. It took me all day to do it but I also ran all the stereo wires, painted some interior panels, and scrubbed down and vacuumed the interior like 3 times. All you have to do is pull out seat and kickpanels, doorsills, seat belts, and toolbox( already removed for stereo room) and the old stuff pulls right out. I got it from Summit. Under $100
What about the padding? Did new padding come with the new carpet or did you reuse old padding?
