adding an overhead console

i just got my console for my 99 and i am trying to determine if the mount is universal, or do i need something above the headliner for it to mount to?

its a stock unit that came out of a 96. do i just need to layout the holes and cut, or what?

i looked for ovrhead console with the search feature. gee, no wonder nothing came up.




as for the measurements? i don't want to cut random holes in my headliner...
