picked up a new truck project (1981 chevy c10 stepside ) and dont have room for my current daily driver my 99 chevy silverado 2wd 4.3L auto.

The Good - Mechanically sound. I am a auto mechanic/emissions tech so any problems get taken care of right away. runs and shifts great, i am original owner, ive ran mobil 1 all its life. Tranny's been flushed last year, new filter, B&M trick shift tranny fluid. Over the years ive replaced fuel pump, water pump, intake manifold gasket, few coolant flush's, belt , brakes, rebuilt rear end, replaced driver front unit bearing assembly, replaced heater core. Front end is tight. Comes with hard fiberglass tonneau cover , after market stereo (pioneer ), upgraded speakers in doors. after market headlights/turnsignals/taillights/rollpan/grille is a billet grille painted to match the truck color.

I Have HID wired up in the truck but the passenger bulb burned out so i connected stock low beams for now. Pick up a $10 bulb off ebay and this truck can have HID headlights.

The bad- Rust above rear wheel on bed, various dents on bed, bed is spray painted stock color. front bumper has a dent in it and bumper bracket is bent also (can easily be replaced). Tailgate hinge on drivers side is rusted out, although its covered under a TSB recall (recall ID # 37733). window cranks are stripped so i have a pair of vise grips to roll windows up and down (comes with truck lol) . The truck also need's a new cat and fuel filler outer hose (hose the surrounds actual filler hose, mine has a split in it allow some vapors out causing evap leak code). The cat isnt clogged or anything its just burned out a little and throws a stupid emission's code. I just passed it through emissions in July so new owner wont have to worry about it.

perfect fixer upper truck or run as is if you dont care about the dents. $2000 obo

passenger side view, side with the dents. I parked to close to my truck one day with my TJ and backed into the bedside. didnt scratch my jeep, but pushed the bedside in (probably could be pushed out from the backside)

ok I cleaned up the interior today so here's some new pics, also pulled the cluster and pushed on the odometer connector and got the display working again ( i knew it was a loose connection, common on silverados)

, my mom lost her car so I gave her the truck to use minus the rims. she add'd a few dents to it, my father didnt like the two tone interior I had (black/silver) so he took the plastic's out, sanded quickly and spray painted , which is why the dash is bubbling from the oil's that were left on the plastic. Would be easy to sand down with some 80grit and do it right.
but yea, same truck

yes, rattle canned, could easily be redone, pull plastics, 80 grit the paint off and paint correctly

It does have A/c but there's a hole in the a/c condenser. Everything's there, just needs a new condenser bolted into place and a vacuum pulled on it, r-14 put in (a/c recharge)

im interested. only thing that bothers me is the SES light being on. nothing personal against you, but i bought vehicles in the past where ppl said it was an easy fix and it ended up not being that.

no problem, I can clear it and it will stay off for weeks , then it will throw a cat code, Same with the evap leak code, wont come on for along time then come on if enough vapors make it past the hose near the gas filler. neither effect's performance or ability to pass emissions. I cleared the code and drove to work and tested it and passed no problem. im in no rush to sell this truck since im driving it daily till someone buys it.

how flexible are you on price? how far are you from Boston?

im about an hour and a half from boston, pretty firm on the price. Kelly blue book value is $3100 for stock vehicle in "fair" condition

Fair condition -
# Some mechanical or cosmetic defects and needs servicing but is still in reasonable running condition.
# Clean title history, the paint, body and/or interior need work performed by a professional.
# Tires may need to be replaced.
# There may be some repairable rust damage.

obviously my truck needs some work, which is why i knocked off $1000 off blue book value.

is the pass side bed able to be pulled out, or are the dents too bad?

im sure they could be pulled out, there not creased at all, just smoothly dented in from where my jeeps license plate bracket pushed against it. There
s one dent on the very bottom near the roll pan that would probably require a little hammer work or stud welded to it to pull it out with a slide hammer(the one below the tail light in the picture). for the price though the truck cant be beat, its mechanically sound, just mainly needs body work and interior painted/window cranks fixed.

What type of fuel mileage did you get? I might be interested if I can come up with the extra money it's not in that bad of shape for a daily driver.

Nevermind, I was thinking about picking it up save some gas. My 99 5.3 4x4 is getting 17 anyways.
