I installed the Belltech 4x4 lowering kit on my 4 door 96 Tahoe. The parts fit well, and the quality was excellent.
I used:
Belltech 4x4 Lowering Kit Part Number- 3903
Belltech NitroDrop Shock part Numbers
Front #7201
Rear #7502
I paid about $500 for the kit including the 4 shocks. I bought it locally, but www.summitracing.com was where I was going to buy the kit if my local guy didnt match their price.
The kit can be installed fairly easily if you have a lift available. The most difficult part of the install is grinding the rivets off the rear hangers, and moving the fuel tank out of the way.
If you are somewhat mechanically inclined, you should have no problem doing this modification. If you're not too good with tools, then I would suggest finding some assistance.

Be sure to get your truck aligned when your finished. (Very Important)

My only negative, would be the instructions. They are photocopies, and they are very dark and blurry. difficult to read.

Another suggestion would be to install urethane swaybar bushings while you have the front end apart. My ride improved dramatically with this modification the ride is still smooth, but it handles much better even with the stock tires.

There are some photos of the install on my website.
