The install is finally complete. I haven't been able to really push it yet because everytime I hit over 4K on the tach, the the intake tube blows off the throttle body. Right now, I'm using my stock tube with the gasket that came with my Volant kit, don't ask why, its a long story. Tonight, I'm gonna try using my friends stock tube that has the gasket glued on.

Since the original belt was way too tight, I went with one 1.5" longer. I think this one is too big now. When I tune on the AC, it starts squealing like a stuck pig. The stock one is 111.5", the one I got is 113". The only size inbetween is 112", so I'm gonna give that a try.

I still need to hook up my gauges too. I'm trying to figure out how to wire my boost gauge. It's electric, so I need to hook up it up to some positive source that doesn't shut down between the accessory mode and engine start of the key.

Overall, I'm very happy with it. And boy does that supercharger scream...

Y2KLimited's been though ALL of this stuff with his ProCharger. Hold out for his response. He had everything you described. It threw belts, broke tensioners, blew the tubing apart, squealed and slipped like crazy - all of it. He's got the fixes and the correct belt lengths and how to judge when it's correct for that setup, so just hang in there...

Well I got my the intake tube from my friend. He has a 2002 1500HD. His tube is much different than mine. It doesn't have as many baffles as mine. It fit perfect and didn't blow off when i hit the go pedal. My truck feels real nice now. As far as the belt whine, I drove it around for a while and it was screaming like crazy. I made a few sharp turns and it went away. I guess it had nothing to do with the AC. There are definite signs of belt slip. Little piles of black rubber dust. I'm still waiting for my shorter 112" belt to arrive.

How does that blower run at lower rpm's? Can you tell it is applying small amounts of boost when you are just cruising around?

I've only been able to take the truck out twice so far, but from what I've felt so far, under 3000 rpm, you only feel a slight performance gain, but once you're over that, it flies.

I took it out tonight and the belt whine was back. At idle, there was nothing, but form 500 to 1000 rpm it would squeal like crazy. After that, it was fine. I think maybe the bypass valve isn't opening at the lower rpm's and too much boost building up, making it harder for the impeller to spin????? I'm not sure. It's hard to diagnose right now because my boost gauge still isn't set up and it's hard to rev the engine while I'm under the hood because I can't figure out how to rev the engine with the electronic throttle control.

My friend is coming over tomorrow night to hook up the boost gauge. With two people, one of us can rev the engine while the other figures out where the whine is coming from.

All I can say is I am real glad there are these forums for us to share stuff like this! You imagine trying to figure it out by yourself, or a couple limited resources? Hope you get it worked out Black Yukon!

You would think the people at procharger would have worked out these problems.

Good Luck Black Yukon.

Hey Black Yukon, have you looked(search) at LS1tech about the belt slipping? I distinctively remember seeing this, and I remember hearing them use belt dressing to help with this. I talked to another ATI owner with a Yukon, and he has had similar probs.
Using a piece of metal similar to a piece of muffler pipe that exactly fits inside your tubing maybe help so you can really clamp down on it?
Whats the update? Sam

Well I used the tube off of my friends 1500HD and it worked out perfect. I think the problem with the belt slip might be my fault. The original belt they sent me was 111.5". It was way too tight and I was afraid of bearing wear. It was bottomed out and about an inch and a half past the tightest hashmark on the tensioner. So I ordered one that was 113" long. When I put it on, the tensioner was at the middle hashmark. Now that I've made a few runs, it is now at the loosest hash mark. I have the 112" belt on order now and should be getting it tomorrow. Hopefully this should solve the belt squeal/slip problem.

Hey dude, whats the latest with your Yukon?!
Hows it running?
You get the new belt on, with no squealing?
Is the intake staying together?
Hope it's working great for you! Sam

BTW-This thursday it will be 4 weeks since I ordered.
Tom said it's supposed to ship out this week!
Too bad I can't put it on right now. I was working on my house a little a few days ago, and my back is really bad again! Sucks!
I can't wait to get better so I can work on stuff(and work my job) w/o probs.

He must have gotten it all working right now. Maybe he is to busy enjoying the new punch to let us know how it is running!
