Tv built into console

At different web sites I have seen lcd's built into the console's of 99 and up Silverados. Mine has a tape player there. How much do you think it would run me (minus the price of tv) to get one put in?I know it would take a custom job to do.. Have any of ya'll done this? Any feedback wopuld be great.:confused:

Now how hard/how much money did it cost tp put in that flip out tv. Is that something a stereo shop can do. I just have a 5.6 inch tv laying around and need something creative to do with it. I want it in the console. Any help or ideas would be wonderful..:confused:

01silvey, how diffucult was it to move your heater controls down there? I wanted to do that in my truck but I was worried about screwing it up.

LOL...I wish that was my ride but it's not. I want to move my A/C controls down lower to to make room for my indash LCD. It shouldnt be that hard, all you need is a longer harness to reach it I think, and you can probably get that at your local GM dealer. But if you find any info on how to achieve this setup let me know please. And Silverado, all you need is a H/U (headunit) that can play dvd's and what you just do is plug the H/U into the LCD with a RCA cord (the yellow one) I beleive.

Well see, my thing is, In my console i got a tape player. There is no way a regular size head unit would be able to fit into there. I know i can take the player out, but the hole isn;t big enough to fit a flip out or anything else.

in that case you buy an adapter exactly for that reason, oversized stock radios. You can get them online or at your local autozone. Thats where i got mine.
