I have a couple questions for the board.

I know that I have not posted as often as i would like and that I have only posted a couple of times, but I have more often than not been a lurker.

Well money has been tight with being in college but now I have some extra money and a couple simple things I want to do to my truck are to upgrade the seats.

My truck is in the Sig and it is a 91 Scottsdale Reg Cab Chevy truck K1500 with a normal crappy bench seat.

I want to "upgrade" the seat to a 60/40 split bench seat.

My question is will an factory take out of an extended cab truck bolt right into my truck. I am assuming it will, but assumptions can be dangerous lol.

I have been told that the bolt holes would not line up and that the holes are different for a REG cab vs EXT cab. Is this true???

Also do the extended cab truck 60/40 seats flip forward??? That is a big must have for me so i can get behind the seat. If not where can I find some factory take offs from a reg cab??? Know of any junk yards that wont rip me off???

The ideal factory seat I would love to have would come out of a 99 or newer truck but that probably wouldnt bolt right in would it??? Is the 99 and up truck bench seat bolt patterns different???

Also if you know of any good junk yards or suppliers let me know. BTW I live in Wichita, KS

Thanks a million in advance.

Shane I think the bolt holes might be a little different dependingon the seat you get. If I remember right, the 60/40 seats split at different places depending on year model. I want to say the 88-94 splits at the driver seat and 95-up split at the passenger seat. Any of those seats for an ext cab will fold and slide forward.

Thanks for the reply...

I have been in many ext cab chevy trucks but never paid attention to whether or not the seats flipped forward....I guess I will try some 60/40's out of an ext cab....

Any word on whether a 99 & up seat will fit in my 91 directly????

Thanks

I am dying to know the answer to this as well. My 1990 reg cab bench is not too comfy.. Ideally for me, buckets out of a 98 reg cab are super nice, but I dont "fabricate steel" too well... so ......

I do know that seats out of 99+ have built in seatbelts, I reckon would have to take the others out?!

Has anyone actually done this swap????????? and could detail the ease or the horror of the install... I just dont happen to have a 98 truck laying around to take measurements from.....

thx

CleanBowTie put 02 buckets in his 89 reg cab. Look HERE (http://www.fullsizechevy.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=43029)

These seats are very thick and probably won't work unless you're under 5'6".
