Has anyone painted their airbag? Would painting have any effect on how it functions? I wouldn't think so but ....I need to paint mine medium gray to match my new wheel or find one from a Denali. What would I use to paint it?:help:

I painted my autometer gauge pod a while back and the color matched pretty well and was pretty flexable. I got the paint from an auto paint shop. It was a custom mixed Dupont paint. I was surprised to find out that they had a color catalog specifically for GM interior colors. It even matched the gloss level of the interior parts. It was pretty expensive and it needs to be applied with a paint gun though. The cost was $40.00 for a quart. I also had to buy SEM brand flexable primer.

You might try emailing the guy that owns www.jpcustoms.com He's the one that put me in the right direction when I painted my pod.

If you have to paint it make sure you use the paint like mentioned above, the only problem is if the air bag ever goes off, you'll have paint chips blow in your face.:read:
