i took apart my dash today to see what i needed to change the glow at night to blue. i ran into a problem though, the back of that black thing is where the green is on. has anybody ever cleared that out? i searched for it, and found some people who ran into the same problem but didnt try it. i dont know if it would work to take the black plastic thing off of the lens or whatever is on the back of it. i really want to change the color to blue, ive already scraped the orange off of the needles, dont know what to do with them now. it will probably depend on if i can get the green off. any suggestions or tips? thanks

I changed the bulbs in mine to single bulb blue LED's. It definately made them blue, but not a very bright blue, kinda dim. I plan on getting 4bulb blue LED's sometime in te future. your gauge cluster should take buld # 194. you can get LED replacments from www.superbrightleds.com They sell them as the wedge base bulbs. I woulds go wit the four bulb version, single bulb is just too dim for me.

the blue led's made it blue even though there is that green film on there? i have 4 bulbs labeled ilumination that arent the 194, and one that is. the plastic base is grey on the ones that arent 194 and the one that is a 194 is black. what about those new T1.5 Instrument LED bulbs on the superbrightled site? are those made for my cluster? it looks like those would light it up evenly.
what year is your truck timberwolve81? did you do anything to your needles when you did the bulbs?

The T 1 1/2look like the single bulb LEDS with a twist on base, i'm not sure though. My cluster didn't have a twist on base, just had to pop out the old bulbs and put in the new ones. My truck is a 91 BTW, with the needle gauges, not the wraparound type. I didn't do anything to the needles yet, i didn't even have to pull them off to get access to the bulbs. I'm too scared that i'll F-up the reading on the gauges to pull the needles off
