I've seen these autometer gauges and was wondering how hard it would be to completely replace my 92 cluster with these aftermarket gauges. I'm planning on fabricating a custom dash and I would like to incorporate these into my new dash. Are they pug'n'play or do they need to be "wired up manually". If anyone has had any experience and could shed some light I would appreciate it.

I've been working on some drawings of a custom dash for my truck and Auto Meter Phantoms are the gauges of choice that I've incorporated into the designs. It will require a lot of wiring, but it's surely possible.

Thanks for the reply man:head: Will the gauges you're using be lighted or is that gonna be custom too? How hard would you rate the wiring to be for a novice like myself?

The Phantoms are lighted, so yes, they'll be lighted. The wiring I'm sure is far from something for a novice to attempt. I have no plans of touching that.

hehe... mine.....
a lot of trial and error with the fit and finish, and basically wired that entire cluster from scratch. Left the original wiring tucked up under the dash. I only spliced into commonly used circuits...ignition signal, dash light, 12+ feed, and tach sig. Everything else had new wiring ran. It makes the harness kind of bulky and hard to work with, but I had my reasons......
Overall, it wasn't too hard. But I also build industrial control cabinets. So not to hard for me might be a nightmare for someone else.
