Well, I know I know...the pictures suck, but gimme some credit for taking them with a 'brella in the rain. I dont have any measure ments of yet or anything because its been aining most of the day. The ONLY and i will repeat ONLY places these tires rub now is one a FULL lock turn, the grips "lightly" hit the torsion bars. Not no bam bam bam its gonna fall off it i keep going hit...just a slight hit. It was scraping the front part of the rear fender going over hills and whatnot, so I trimmed it up and no more problem. Go ahead...most of yall are gonna say this isn't gonna work, or blah blah blah...I dont care:D Im rollin 38's with a 6" lift:LOL: :head:

For all yall haters :naughty: :

Anyone from the old school remember when we heard about PTown who ran 38's with a Rancho and a body lift. We were all shocked and pretty much all of us said it can't be done. I remember looking at the pix and thinking how extreme he was and now you are running the same 38 on just a suspension lift. This is cool!!!! Looks like you have room for more.

Actually, yes I could fit a bigger tire up front I beleive. Is just the back that would hold me up. My rear spring are sorta sagging because i use to haul 2000lbs+ at a time of ice to places and really stressed them out bad. That and the 250lb+ tube bumper dont help the springs...but sure does in pulling :D

Mud those piocs rock. I love the small lift big tires. Def have room for more tire, but maybe you could probably go with some 16x8. So how do the truck drive and going around turns?

It does great so far...thanks:cool: About the 16x8....ehh its sorta iffy. I can see trimming up front, and definalty more in the rear. The way it is now, is perfect for turning and stuff...Being another 1" wider I can see trimming on the valance thing, and some of the metal probably on the lower inner rear of the front fender.

Imagine what a little more encouragement could do around these parts:naughty:

BTW...I'll confirm what Mud says. I saw the truck this afternoon. I guess one nutcase attesting for another doesn't do much, but I will, for whatever it's worth.;)

For some reason, i cant see the pics, but someone said he should go with 16x8's so i guess the tires are on 7????

Not my style really, with such a large tire but if your happy thats all that matters.

For the record, i did like Ptowns truck when he had big tires on it, but werent they 8's?

Not to mention he trimmed alot.

I wouldnt take it off road, but thats a different story :)

Whats lifting the rear? Springs? Blocks? The first place your going to rub is the front of the rear fender openings. It looks good just bring up the back a little.

All you need is the 5.5" SL block and walla...1-1/2" taller for $68 :D

Looks good, Im going with 38" STS next year

I think a 16x8 with 4" backspacing would solve your t-bar inteference, and trimming the lower fender or valence is nothing, I would do that anyway. Get you some black rockcrawlers :read:

Mud, thats like more extreme with my truck. Those are the stock rims right? Do you tires stick out at all? Well mine barely stick out of the fenders, TSL radials are a skinny A$$ tire unless you have the proper width in the rim. But gotta give it to ya, your truck sure does look friggn' good. I have rubbed the rear fender MORE then the front when i flexed at the beach. I have those pics developed, Ill hopefully give them to rkik to post them.:rocking:

stuffing meats is one thing, but I thought one of the top rules of lifting a truck is 'GO WIDER AS YOU GO HIGHER'

You raised the center of gravity. You have managed to raise the trucks center of gravity 6" with lift + around 3" for tires - based on a stock 32" tire.

So, 9" of height increase, with absolutely no wider stance to stabilize it while cornering, etc. Not to mention the side to side flex of a large tire with a lot of sidewall on a narrow rim.

I wouldn't trust that setup on highway driving personally. Cornering in mud and dirt is more forgiving, but one high speed evasive maneuver on the highway or paved roads, and I say good luck! Looks are one thing, but safety is also a factor.

Thanks yall:D

About it being taller and not wider, gimme some time. I cant do everything at once and still make my payment:whatever: Remeber Im only 17 and still goto school:cool:

I will soon get some wider rims...and yes the Black Rock crawlers our at the top of my list.

As for rear, I like to have the 2" squat. I know it it gonna be worse for flexing and stuff meaning a little more trimming, but Ya gotta love the Squat down here in Fl.:naughty: When I save up some more money, I was thinking about getting all springs both sides for $130

And for the "pizza cutter" people....:moon:

Looks good bro, glad to see you finally got a lift. My compliments on the tires, brings back memories. If you go with 10" wheels, I think it will be perfect as the tires will have the shape that mine did. I bet your truck is a badd unit in the mud, be sure to take some video or pics.

Ok First off....DAMN!! looks good man, I agree about the rear...maybe raise it by an inch or so and you'll be set, I'm sure the weight of that bumper causes it. It would be like my fat a$$ standing in the back all the time. And as for this part......

Thanks again for all the comments guys:D I trimmed a little more up today on my rear fenders, so that should be fine for flexing now...and Yes I'll be sure to post some pics. I finally got around to measuring my fenders:
Front - 47"
Rear - 45.2"

About the disowning my town...naw...still running big ol tires with hardly any lift:cool: :head:

I got to looking, I'd definalty have alot of trimming to do running 8" wide wheels. Maybe if I could get the same back spacing as my stocks ones, just 8" wide, I might be able to get by with little trimming.

As for gas milage so far....its looking the exact same as when i had my 315's on. Kinda weird I know...but I aint complainin:D

But that still wouldnt help any, for getting rid of the rubbing on the torsion bars. There is only one way to stop that, less backspacing. :read:

Is nots really that bad...the only time they rub, is on a full lock, and they just barely hit it. I was looking into wider wheels for a little bit wider stance.

Now that you have a lift under there. Would the torsion bar relocators be a fix for this? I mean if you raise your bars back up to the stock position, its got to help some. Your BS is probably 5". You can get 16x8 with 4-5/8, not sure about 5" though.

danez71
07-17-2003, 12:41 PM
You can get 16x8 with 5" BS. I think Centerline has some and I believe Ultra too. Check out Centlinewheels.com and go to the Wheel Deals section. They have brand new wheels that are are trying to get rid of at really good prices.... maybe you can find something you like there.

Even keeping the 5" BS on an 8" wheel should help with the tires rubbing the TB because more of the tire will move moved outward. As compared to a 7" wheel it should move the tire away from the TB about 1/4" to 1/2"
