Anyone done or considered this swap. My interior is pretty ragged out. Really though I like the cleaner look of the 95 dash and door panels. My interior is already wired for p/w p/l. All i would have to add is the power seats. Im not even sure what it will entail under the dash and stuff. But any thoughts or insights would be greatly appreciated. Brainstorm freely.

Yes, it can be done but it's a PITA to say it simply. Your best bet is to find complete dash, wiring harness, and accesories or just find a complete donor truck for the swap. The people who have done it usually say they would never do it again and wouldn't recommend it. If you do it good luck and prepare to have your truck off the road for a good while.

Search it, theres alot of threads about this. You'd probably need an electrical service manual too to figure out how to make the AC controls work etc.

I saw this thread, saw your name as the last reply and had to check it out :rocking:
basically, the swap is a PITA from my understanding and you would be better off just doing a full custom dash. all the work you would put into it would never be appreciated because the dash's came that way from the factory from 95 to 98, which is alot of trucks :crazyi:
if you want people to look at your dash and appreciate, you can do a custom dash, or dress yours up with billet or something.
if you just love the 95-up dash, then good luck with this little adventure :)

im seriously considering trading the truck in on a 96
considering i plan on swapping the motor for the PFI Vortec design and insist on the 95 or up interior im probably better of just trading it in. I just dont wanna... i love the truck as trail abused as it is i dont want to let it go....
well see.....

Jason you need to write a tech article on this and get it stickied at the top of this forum. That would save some frustration.
