all interior lights stay on!

Hey guys,

I have a problem. All my interior lights stay on weather the door is shut or not. I haven't figured out what is doing it yet because it's dark and hard to see anything that I might be missing in the day time. I pulled the fuse anyways but it's still very werid. Any ideas on what would cause the lights to stay on all the time? It is only interior lights, nothing else. It is driving me nuts though.

check the obvious like the position of the thumbwheel switch next to the headlight switch. (the one that dims your dash lights). Then check the pin switches in the door jamb/dash. I think yours are actually mounted to the sides of the dashboard where it meets the doors. Those switches are a breeze to replace

yep, mine did the same. i pulled all the bulbs out for a while. it was the door switch mounted on the side of the dash. 5 or 6 bucks from the dealer.

just to make sure it's not one of those dumb mistakes, on newer vehicles(starting from '96) the interior light stays on for a while, then goes out.

but if it is an older vehicle i would just about guarantee it's the door jam switch(try unplugging them one at a time to find out which one it is)
