since some of my window switch bulbs are burned out, i want to replace them with blue leds, so they match my guages and the rest of my illumination. if i bought the 74 wedge bulbs from superbrightleds and removed them from the bases and put them into those little round things from the window switches would it work? also, are the bulbs for the back window switches the same type of bulb and mounting?

ok i got LEDs in the front power window switches now. i used the #74s from SBLEDS. shave them down, and remove the plastic around the base. then fit them into the sockets from the stock bulbs. i could not figure out how to change the bulbs in the power mirror or driver side lock control, i guess it is soldered inside the switch. the rear power window switches take a MUCH smaller bulb, so these LEDs wont work there. but at least now i have more stuff that is blue, and am getting closer to my goal of having EVERY single light in my truck blue. they do light up ok, they were pretty dim with the stock bulbs. for someone who has no back doors and no power mirrors, this would work perfectly. now someone find a place who will open the switches and change the bulbs inside!!!

ok i just slapped the last LEDs i had into the power mirror switch and the back window switches. now all i have left to do is the front driver door lock switch, the window lock switch, the 4x4 pushbuttons and the headlight switch. i need more LEDs now! has anyone ever taken the 4x4 switch or the headlight switch apart? im going to go take pics in a few mins.

Those look good. What year is your vehicle? I thought you had to use some kind of a resistor with led's?

i bought the 74 led bulb from superbrightLEDs.com. then u take a razor and cut off the plastc around the base, very carefully. then you have an LED with the resistor soldered on already!. these are what i used in the window switches and mirror switches, and as soon as i get more LEDs i am gonna try and do this in the headlight and 4x4 switch. good thing i was an ex-ricer, i learned how to put LEDs in everything by doing it to my mazda.

both the front and back rear AC controls took 2 74 bulbs each. the one in the front, you stick your finger behind the console and pop it out pushing it out towards you. the one in the back, you kinda just pull down from the front side, and it pops out. i will take some more pics for u guys on how to do it, ill have them done by tonight. i am going to try and also make quick videos on how to mod each switch also, but i gotta get my video camera back from my boy first.

i wonder if it is as easy to change the bulbs in the NBS trucks, i am thinking of sometime getting an 04 denali, once the engine prob is definetly worked out. hey finally my newbie status disappeared :rocking:

Slightly harder because you have to actually cut the stock bulbs out of the sockets. If you pull your DRL bulb out and look at the bottom, you'll see what I'm talking about. There's a little wire that wraps around the connections that you have to cut to remove the bulb. That's the only 1 in our trucks, but all the NBS lights are like that.

on the top right next to where there is a plug with the 2 brown and black wires, there is a small brown thing which you can remove with a flat screwdriver.

and here is the LED installed in the socket, you need to grind it down to get it to fit on the passenger side
