View Full Version : Tire dressing...what do you use? MyHoe 02-10-2002, 08:12 PM Ok guy's WTF kind of tire dressing do you use, and how do you apply it?? This is kind of a poll...thanks. :fight: Y2k+1 Z71 02-10-2002, 08:21 PM 303 Protectant. Has UV protection, gives a mild shine with almost no residue, has stuff to recondition the tires natural oils. You can find it at boat and Marine stores (it's also the best for fibreglass). 2002-Z71 02-10-2002, 08:22 PM I use Eagle One and use their custom applicator thing. I have used Black Majik-smells really good. Both work about the same, but Eagle One is cheaper. My friend uses Meguiars and swears by that crap, but I don't see enough difference between mine and his to justify the price difference. They all wear off after a short while anyway. One thing that I have noticed using this stuff is a light brown ring about 1 1/2" wide from the tread down. I believe this crap causes it, but I have no proof. If I apply some more, it is not noticeable though. Don't use armor all tire foam---doesn't work at all 454ss 02-10-2002, 08:28 PM I use High Endurance with the applicator thingie, it last a few weeks even after the rain. MyHoe 02-10-2002, 08:35 PM Thanks guy's...keep the opinions coming. Could someone move this post to the general discussion for me, I f'ed up. Thanks in advance, MyHoe:confused: BC Rod and Custom 02-10-2002, 08:41 PM i use the meguiars but my tires only stay black for a day cause i drive through 5 miles of road construction every day. DJRocket 02-10-2002, 08:58 PM Years back I used to use armorall, eagle one. Now I use any of the cleaner/dressing combo. I made a shield the diameter of the wheel (with cardboard & get this DUCT TAPE!) to protect it from the chemicals. Just spray it on and presto.. Those things last well enough until the next wash, has UV protection, and give a mild shine with hardly any residue, just like Y2k+1 Z71 said. And best you have less hassle to deal with. :read: May be I just getting too old to deal with that crap, but it works;) CKTA 02-11-2002, 06:37 AM ORIGINAL Armorall and a sponge really wet, let sit for a couple minutes and wipe w/ damp sponge. Black as night!;) CKTA 02-11-2002, 07:34 AM Originally posted by 5-8CHEVY I use turtle wax wipe on tire wax.... let that sit for a few and hit it with some Black Magic spray... shines like a mofo. :D You have to wash your truck to use tire dressing, you my friend are banned from this thread! CKTA 02-11-2002, 07:42 AM Originally posted by 5-8CHEVY  You my friend.... ahh fu(k it... :middle: :middle: :middle: :middle: :D :D :D :D Jokeman 02-11-2002, 08:25 AM I use Whestle's(sp) Wheel Bleach or something like that. It cleans the raised white letters back to white if you use a brush on them. I usually dont user tire dressing. 1badgmc 02-11-2002, 09:40 AM Meguiar's High Endurance. Smells like grapes and lasts for a couple of weeks even after driving in the rain. :) 454ss 02-11-2002, 10:19 AM Originally posted by 1badgmc Meguiar's High Endurance. May try Mcguiar's cause I have a whole garage full of all the rest of there products!Hey Mark how does the applicator pad work on the 275/45's?the Eagle one is too big. Thanxs , Adam Sierra Sam 02-26-2002, 01:49 PM I use different stuff for different tires. On the Vette (which I sold) which had BFG tires - regular Armor All applied with a sponge seemed to work best. On my wife's car ('01 Olds Intrigue with Goodyears) - Armor All foam applied with a sponge. On the truck (Bridgestones) - Zaino Perfect Trire Gloss applied with an Eagle One contour applicator. The Zaino is expensive (which is why I don't use it on the wife's car), but the Armor All Foam looks like crap on the truck tires. Can't seem to figure that one out. chevy_ownz_u 03-16-2002, 12:42 PM Tire Wet vBulletin v3.5.1, Copyright ©2000-2008, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
