View Full Version : Anyone go from manual->power locks?
I would really like power door locks with a remote for my truck but right now it has manual locks. Anyone know of a good kit that includes what is needed to install power locks? Has anyone personally done this and could give some advice?

Just go to a junk yard and rip some power locks out of another truck. Just make sure you get all the wires and harnesses and ect. Then they should just go right in. Never done it... so maybe I'm just stupid but I'm sure it'd work fine.
There aren't any good junkyards around me and I would personally rather buy new units than use some older junk. I thought about trying a junkyard, but decided agaisnt it.

I put this kit on my truck a few months ago and it was pretty easy and works great. I like that you don't need switches, you just lock or unlock one door and the other does the same thing.

What year truck do you have? How long did it take to install the kit?

also try www.autoloc.com, that's where my brother got his keyless entry/manual to power lock kit, works great for him.

I tried Autoloc's site but nothing was working. I'll try it again.

The electric life kit took about 2 hours to put in and I have a '99 Silverado.
