hey all, ive got blue LED's on my alpine head unit, and a blue rockford logo on my amp, and was thinking of keeping the same theme by making my guage lights blue. i dont NEED LED's, but they will work. i just want blue light rather than the stock white. can you give me part #'s, and possibly how to install them? and a web site would help too.
thanks a lot!

You need the 194, depending on what gauges you have depends on how you install them. Most of them are plu-n-play. LEDS are polarity sensitive though. So if you put it in one way and it doens't light up, take it out and turn it 180 degrees, then it should work.

You may not need LEDs, but if you want blue to match your HU, you do. All those blue tinted incandescent bulbs will give you more of a blue/green look instead of the pure blue that you'll get from LEDs. :rocking:

Yes. It works for '95+ trucks.
'88-'94 trucks have issues with the green plastic shield that causes their stock green lighting.

can anyone else confirm the 194 model correct for my truck?

Correct. For the gauge cluster you'll need 6 of the 194s. If you want to change out your signal indicators, high beam indicator, or any of the other warning lights, those are the 74s. You can also change your A/C controls to blue using the 74s. There are 4 of those lighting up the controls plus 2 more if you want to change the colors on the A/C and recirculate buttons at the bottom.

Will these suggestions work for a 97 yukon? I like the idea. I've got an alpine and would love to see the entire dash light up blue.
Thanks ahead of time.

As far as the dash lights are concerned, your '97 is the same as a '95 is the same as my '99 Yukon.

Hey I just checked out that website for LEDs. Do you recommend the 1 bulb LEDs, 4 bulb LEDs, 6 bulb LEDs, etc. Is it possible to have too many bulbs that it gets in the way of other things behind the gauges?

I tried the single-LEDs just to see. They weren't bright enough for me.
I have the 4-LEDs in my Yukon's gauges. Their beams are more focused than the singles, so you get some hot spots, but they're not bad and the brightness over the singles is worth it.
The 6-LEDs are a relatively new product for them. I plan to get them. A friend of mine just put them in his '99 Tahoe and they're a little brighter than the 4-LEDs. You get the same kind of hot spots as the 4s, but again, it's not bad.

:dunce: What bulbs do I use for the dome light? I though they were 211s but I can't seem to find them in LED form. Thanks again. Sorry for not putting it together in 1 post.

They're the 4211 festoon bulbs.

do a search on LED's. There are a lot of writeups and pics that have been posted on this topic.

If you take some sand paper and a dremel or something and smooth down the rounded tops of the LEDs, and rough them up, you shouldn't have hot spots. It should destribute the beam better.
Thats what my friend did in his Honda for his blue LEDs, but he just got the LEDs from Radio Shack. They werent special or anything
