I dont know if this is a fluke or not but i thought i would share this with yall, my dad has a 2000 Z71 and after messing around with the dash, I some how stumbled upon pushing the dome override light button 4 times and it makes a little chime then the headlights go off and you have automatic control of them. He has had two of these trucks, both were 2000's and they both did this, I though it was pretty cool and wandered if any other did the same thing.

Only works on 00-02 though...I KNOW THAT IT DOES NOT WORK ON THE 99's...have to put a resistor inline with a couple wires in the BCM...not sure bout the 03-04 models though.

Click your parking brake to the first notch. :) It doesn't engage the parking brake at all but activates the switch so that the lights turn off. Been doing this for years as I hate the DRLs.

on the 03+ the headlight switch is made so if you turn it to the left, it disables the DRLs and auto headlights.

Just pull your DRL fuse in the fuse panel @ drivers side of dash. Works like a charm.:D

i don't like my auto headlights. i think it looks better right around dusk to ride with just the parking lights and foglights on.

my 99 didnt work with the dome override switch, but my 00 worked like that... I also used the e-brake trick on my 99 NBS...

On my 04 it allows you to do it with the regular headlight switch...

for the OBS. wouldnt it be easier to tap directly into the e-brake switch and install a seperate one to control it with. Ya know, trick it into thinking its the e-brake switch when its really a dash switch

lol, I didnt think it irritated people so much. Originally i had the fuse pulled but i wanted it back, i would just like a button to control it like the newer guys. I guess this is a commonly known fact for 00-02 guys.
