Here is a sub box I am building for my boss' son. It didnt turn out all that great cause in the beginning I tried making him do some of the cutting and drilling, and it didnt turn out so good. But I made due with the limited resources we had after that.

Hopefully these pics work.

I gotta go back and recess the screws, then it is gonna be covered with carpet, then the edges are gonna be covered with stainless steel trim, and a piece of plexiglass is gonna be over the top. Some red neon is gonna light up the box at night to show the stuff off.

It will be going inbetween the seats in a 91 GMC extended cab, it will go from the back seat all the way to the dash.

I dont know why I put so much time into this for him. He doesnt take care of his pickup at all and it is really crappy.

Heres the finer points of his pickup.

Lookin good. I probably would have mounted the amp somewhere else, and made the boxes a little bit bigger though. just my 2c.

Not even pep boys, wally world. It is disgusting the way he takes care of his pickup, but he is spoiled and his dad pays for all this crap. He wants to put a 4" lift on this spring, they are gonna have me do it but knowing him, hell only do it half assed and his transmission is gonna go soon, so as soon as he gets the lift on I gaurantee it will go.

did you calk or silicone the cracks? If not, then dont worry about it lmao I helped my uncle make a box for 2 12" xplod subs a while back, we carpeted it and all, i'll try to get pics of it... so far it hasnt fallen apart, but i think the only reason is cause... well we both work at a cabinet shop so, we've built our share :D

Im not too worried about it falling apart. I built it pretty sturdy, I have been doing woodworking since I was about ten. Looking back on this project I think it would have turned out better if I would have done it all myself, but I am one of those guys who would rather teach a guy to fish.

it looked like you used particleboard to make the box. mdf would've been alot better. it wont break off like particleboard will and it's alot more sturdier. also, like someone else mentioned you definately need to use caulk or silicone to prevent any air leaks. the box is the most important part of a setup. i have built alot of boxes and even tho your box looks nice it could use some improvement

Yeah, MDF would've been better. I can imagine a particle box exploding with enough pressure in it. But with what the kid's got, I doubt you'll have to worry about it. But yeah basically what ^he^ said

...and Unlce Buck is a funny ass movie
